ABC grew its Total Viewer count for the 2nd week in a row, while retaining 100% of its Adult 18-49 audience week to week. The Net was also up for the 2nd straight frame in Adults 18-34.

Rankings: ABC delivered 7 of the week's Top 20 entertainment television shows in Adults 18-49, including, for the 4th time in 5 weeks this season, TV's No. 1 scripted program with "Grey's Anatomy": "Grey's Anatomy" No. 1, "Desperate Housewives" No. 5, "Private Practice" No. 13, "Dancing with the Stars" No. 14, "Modern Family" and "DWTS the Results" tied at No. 15 and "Brothers & Sisters" No. 19. ABC aired the Top 2 TV shows for the week across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54) with "Grey's" and "Housewives." TV's most-watched new comedy this season overall, ABC's "Modern Family" registered as the week's No. 1 freshman comedy in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 33% currently, from 28% at the same point in 2008. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.

Monday

ABC qualified as the most-watched TV network (14.5 million) on Monday for the 2nd week in a row, beating CBS by 2.8 million viewers (11.7 million), Fox by 3.8 million viewers (10.7 million) and NBC by 9.2 million viewers (5.3 million).
