UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - December 16, 2010 - NBC's late-night lineup has ruled the ratings week of December 6-10, as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" topped all cable and broadcast entertainment competition in their time periods in viewers 18-49 and total viewers. Jay beat CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" and ABC's combination of "Nightline" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in the time period in all key ratings categories: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. Jimmy Fallon likewise out-delivered CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and Kimmel in every key ratings category.

Jay generated his biggest winning margin this season over "Late Show" in adult 18-49 viewers, out-delivering "Late Show" by 29 percent (1.353 million adults 18-49 vs. 1.050 million). During the same week last year, "Tonight's" margin over "Late Show" was 1 percent (1.397 million vs. 1.385 million).

Jimmy Fallon delivered his biggest 18-49 audience of the season and his biggest margin over "Late Late Show," 39 percent (875,000 vs. 631,000). During the same week last year, "Late Night's" margin over "Late Late Show" was 8 percent (838,000 vs. 778,000).

Jay and Jimmy dramatically reversed year-ago results in total viewers. Jay won the week over "Late Show" by a 6 percent margin (3.890 million vs. 3.679 million) after "Late Show" led by a 66 percent margin last year (4.398 million vs. 2.647 million). Jimmy Fallon topped "Late Late Show" last week by 1 percent in total viewers (1.792 million vs. 1.780 million), for his fourth weeklong total-viewer victory in a row, reversing last year's verdict, when "Late Late Show" prevailed by 30 percent (1.945 million vs. 1.501 million).

Versus the first 12 weeks of last season, "Tonight" is matching its year-ago 1.0 rating in adults 18-49 and is running within 7 percent of its year-ago 18-49 viewership (1.267 million vs. 1.356 million), while "Late Show" is down 10 percent in rating (0.9 vs. 1.0) and down 14 percent in 18-49 viewers (1.170 million vs. 1.355 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is matching his year-ago 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 and running within 0.4 percent of last year in 18-49 viewers (793,000 vs. 796,000), while "Late Late Show" is down in rating by 17 percent (0.5 vs. 0.6) and down in 18-49 viewers by 13 percent (686,000 vs. 793,000).

In total viewers, "Tonight" is up 51 percent versus its average viewership for the first 12 weeks of last season (3.810 million vs. 2.522 million), while "Late Show" is down 15 percent (3.574 million vs. 4.197 million). At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon is up 25 percent versus his year-ago pace in total viewers (1.730 million vs. 1.388 million), while "Late Late Show" is down 8 percent (1.776 million vs. 1.931 million).

At 1:35 a.m. ET, "Last Call with Carson Daly" is up so far this season by 10 percent in 18-49 viewers (491,000 vs. 445,000) and up 24 percent in total viewers (983,000 vs. 794,000).
