"60 MINUTES" DRAWS ITS LARGEST ADULTS 25-54 AUDIENCE IN TWO YEARS AND MAKES THE TOP 5 FOR THE FIFTH TIME IN SIX TELECASTS
A Total of 17.40 Million Viewers Tune in to America's Number-One News Program
60 MINUTES scored its best rating in its core demo in two years, posting a 5.4/12 in adults 25-54 - the highest in that measure since Dec. 14, 2008. America's most -watched news program drew 17.40 million viewers Sunday (16) to finish the week at # 5. This was the fifth time over the last six telecasts that the program finished #5 or higher; it was the 10th time over 16 telecasts that 60 MINUTES made the Top 10, seven of them at # 5 or higher.
The program also finished # 5 in households, with a 10.6/16 in that category, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Jan. 16.
Sunday's broadcast featured Scott Pelley's report on the mindset of accused Tucson mass murderer Jared Loughner, Steve Kroft's look at America's partner in the war on terror, Yemen, and Lara Logan's profile of legendary sports gambler Bill Walters.
