ABC Grows its Overall Audience in Late-Night Year to Year for 3rd Week in a Row

"Nightline" is No. 1 Season to Date Among Adults 25-54 And Total Viewers for First Time Since 1993

ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Stands as the Only Broadcast Program in Late-Night to Post Year-to-Year Increases in Adults 18-34

For the 8th Week Running, "JKL" Tops CBS' "Ferguson" in Adults 18-34

ABC Late-Night (Monday - Friday)

During the week of February 14, 2011, ABC was up by 6% over the same week last year (w/o 2/15/10) in Total Viewers (2.09 million vs. 1.97 million) and by 5% in Adults 25-54 (1.01 million vs. 960,000), scoring its 3rd straight week of year-to-year increases in late night in viewers, and up for the 2nd time in the last 3 weeks in the key adult demo.

"Nightline" (Monday - Friday)

During the week of February 14, ABC News' "Nightline" drew 3.57 million Total Viewers, 1.52 million Adults 25-54 and 1.13 million Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" improved on the year-ago week by 7% in Total Viewers.

· Season to date, "Nightline" ranks in first place among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. This is the first time that "Nightline" has been in first place at this point in the season since at least the 1993-94 season, when "Letterman" began on CBS. In addition, "Nightline" is up by 2% in Adults 25-54 season to date compared to the same point last year.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live" (Monday - Friday)

Two weeks into its new time slot, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is improving its performance from its previous time slot this season by 6% among Adults 18-34 (259,000 vs. 245,000). In fact, "JKL" is bettering its lead-in retention in the young adult demo, retaining a solid 73% of its "Nightline" lead-in among Adults 18-34 (259,000 vs. 353,000), compared to 61% lead-in retention in the demo in its previous time slot.

· For the week of February 14, 2011, "JKL" was up 3% in Total Viewers (1.57 million vs. 1.53 million) over the year-ago week and 14% in Adults 18-34 (248,000 vs. 217,000), turning in its 3rd consecutive week of year-to-year increases in the young adult demo. Impressively, "JKL" stood as the only late-night program among the broadcast networks to post year-to-year increases in key young adult demo.

· ABC's "JKL" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" by 12% in Adults 18-34 (248,000 vs. 222,000), marking the 8th week in a row that "JKL" beat the CBS late-night program.

"NIGHTLINE" IS #1 SEASON TO DATE AMONG ADULTS 25-54 AND TOTAL VIEWERS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1993

During the week of February 14, 2011, ABC News' "Nightline" drew 3.57 million Total Viewers, 1.52 million Adults 25-54 and 1.13 million Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" improved on the year-ago week by +7% in Total Viewers.

Season to date, "Nightline" ranks in first place among Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. This is the first time that "Nightline" has been in first place at this point in the season since at least the 1993-94 season, when "Letterman" began on CBS. In addition, "Nightline" is up by +2% in Adults 25-54 season to date compared to the same point last year.

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Bill Weir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
