NEW YORK, March 1, 2011 -- "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" added another key demographic win during the month of February, with a victory among Persons 18-34 joining the numerous repeat demo wins for the Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning series which finished the month as #1 in Total Viewers among late night shows in cable and was also the highest-rated and most-watched late night show in cable among Persons 18-49, Men 18-34 and Men 18-24. Across all of late night, broadcast and cable, "The Daily Show" finished the month as the #1 late night show among Persons 18-34, Men 18-34 and Men 18-24. "Daily Show" lead-out, "The Colbert Report," also had a memorable month in February, overtaking "Conan" among Total Viewers to claim the #2 slot behind "The Daily Show" in total delivery among late night shows in cable. The Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning "Colbert Report" also dominated among young men, finishing the month behind only "The Daily Show" in all of late night, broadcast and cable, among Men 18-34 and Men 18-24, providing COMEDY CENTRAL with the top two spots across all of television in these key demos.
Versus the prior month (January 2011), "The Daily Show" grew +3% in Total Viewers, with ratings growing +8% among Persons 18-49, +9% among Persons 18-34, +11% among Men 18-34 and a strong +18% among Men 18-24. "The Colbert Report" grew +2% in Total Viewers, with ratings growing +7% among Persons 18-49, +13% among Persons 18-34, +10% among Men 18-34 and a stellar +22% among Men 18-24.
Online, show sites for "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" were the top two sites among all late night show sites in Total Visits, Total Unique Visitors, Men 18-34 Unique Visitors and Total Minutes during January 2011 (the last full month of data reported by comScore MediaMetrix). 2.1 million Unique Visitors spent 17 million minutes on thedailyshow.com, nearly tripling third place TeamCoco.com among Unique Visitors. The 17 million minutes spent on "The Daily Show's" site was more than five times the amount of time spent on TeamCoco.com and was over 5 million more minutes than the combined total of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The Late Show with David Letterman," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Conan" and "Lopez Tonight."
