The Disney Channel Original Movie "Frenemies," starring Bella Thorne and Zendaya (both of "Shake It Up"), Mary Mouser ("Body of Proof"), Nick Robinson ("Melissa & Joey") and Stefanie Scott ("A.N.T. Farm"), chummed up to viewers across the U.S., ranking as Friday's #1 TV Telecast among Kids 2-11 (2.4 million/5.8 rating), Kids 6-11 (2.0 million/8.3 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.8 million/7.6 rating), and cable's #1 telecast in its time period in Total Viewers (4.2 million).
Along with an original "Phineas and Ferb" and replays of hit series "Austin & Ally," "Jessie," "A.N.T. Farm," "Good Luck Charlie" and "Shake It Up," Disney Channel held Friday's Top 13 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 and the Top 12 TV telecasts in Tweens 9-14.
· "Frenemies" easily dominated its time period, outperforming runner-up Nickelodeon/Nick-at-Nite by 242% in Kids 6-11 (2.0 million vs. 585,000) and by 283% in Tweens 9-14 (1.8 million vs. 470,000), and the No. 2 cable network, SYFY, by 40% in Total Viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.0 million).
· Growing its audience throughout, "Frenemies" grew by 14% in Total Viewers (3.7 million to 4.7 million), by 35% in Kids 6-11 (1.7 million to 2.3 million) and by 40% in Tweens 9-14 (1.5 million to 2.1 million), start to finish.
· "Frenemies" outperformed year-ago time period levels by solid double-digit percent margins across all demos, including by 17% in Total Viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.6 million), by 18% in Kids 6-11 (2.0 million vs. 1.7 million) and by 20% in Tweens 9-14 (1.8 million vs. 1.5 million).
Disney Channel Original Movies dominate basic cable TV's ratings, delivering the #1 movie in Total Viewers for five consecutive years and the #1 movie telecast among Tweens for 10 consecutive years. They are "Cadet Kelly," "The Cheetah Girls," "Halloweentown High," "Twitches," "The Cheetah Girls 2," "High School Musical 2," "Camp Rock," "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie," "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" and "Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension," respectively. The latter is also cable television's #1 animated telecast of all time among Kids 2-11.
