"SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" DELIVERS ITS TOP 18-49 AND TOTAL-VIEWER RESULTS FOR AN ENCORE SINCE APRIL
HOSTED BY EMMA STONE AND FEATURING MUSICAL GUEST COLDPLAY, 'SNL' TOPS ALL PRIMETIME TELECASTS THAT NIGHT ON ABC, CBS, NBC, OR FOX IN 18-49
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - January 26, 2012 - The January 21 encore edition of "Saturday Night Live" has scored the show's highest adult 18-49 and total-viewer results for a rebroadcast since April 2011, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.
Last weekend's encore, hosted by Emma Stone and featuring musical guest Coldplay, dominated its slot with a 1.8 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall. The January 21 results are the highest for an "SNL" rebroadcast in both 18-49 and total viewers since the April 16, 2011 edition hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow with musical guest Cee Lo Green.
"Saturday Night Live" was the #1 telecast of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox in adults 18-49, ahead of every Saturday primetime program on those networks.
Season to date, "Saturday Night Live" is running within a tenth of a point of its year-ago adult 18-49 rating (2.8 vs. 2.9, "most current") and is up slightly in total viewers (7.395 million vs. 7.393 million).
