CBS Tops the Night in Viewers and Key Demos
ACM Social Media Mentions Hit All-Time High
The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS led CBS to a big Sunday victory as the awards broadcast was easily the night's top program in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for April 1.
THE ACM AWARDS (S) was first in households (7.8/12), viewers (12.97m), adults 25-54 (4.2/09) and adults 18-49 (3.1/08). Compared to last year's ceremony, THE ACM AWARDS was up +3% in households (from 7.6/12) and even in adults 25-54.
For the night, CBS was first in households (7.5/12), viewers (12.21m), adults 18-49 (2.6/07) and adults 25-54 (3.7/09).
Social media mentions around this year's show hit an all-time high and was up more than 330% from last year's show, according to social TV analytics company BlueFin. A new record was set in terms of fans voting in both Entertainer of the Year and Best New Artist categories. Total votes neared a million and was up more than 25% year-over-year.
