TNT's "The Closer" and "Perception" Grow in Week Two
Last Week's Premieres Also Score Strong Gains in Live +3
TNT's blockbuster drama The Closer and new hit series Perception achieved solid growth in Live + Same Day delivery last night, outperforming last week's summer premieres among key adult demos. Meanwhile, time-shifted viewing is already providing both series with strong gains in Live + 3 delivery.
Last night, The Closer's second summer episode drew 6.4 million viewers in Live + Same Day, topping last week's summer premiere by +4%. The series, which is in the midst of its final six episodes, also grew among key adult demos compared to last week, with adults 18-49 up 3% to 1.3 million and adults 25-54 up 8% to 1.8 million. Much of The Closer's growth came from adults 18-34, which grew +18% over last week.
TNT's newest original series, Perception, remained strong in its second week, with a total audience of 5.5 million viewers. Perception chalked up solid demo growth compared to last week's series premiere, growing its delivery of adults 18-49 by +12% to 1.2 million and adults 25-54 by +8% to 1.7 million.
After premiering as basic cable's #1 and #2 series last week, The Closer and Perception have wracked up strong numbers through time-shifted viewing. The Closer's premiere episode has grown from 6.1 million viewers in Live + Same Day to 7.8 million viewers in Live + 3, while the episode's demos have expanded to 1.7 million adults 18-49 (L+3) and 2.3 million adults 25-54 (L+3). Perception's premiere episode last week has risen from 5.6 million viewers in Live + Same Day to more than 6.8 million viewers in Live + 3, with 1.5 million adults 18-49 (L+3) and 2.0 million adults 25-54 (L+3).
