"The Voice" Delivers NBC's Best Non-Sports 18-49 Rating in Its Time Period Since December 2009
NBC spins the numbers for Tuesday, September 18.

Tuesday Results:

· From 8-9 p.m. ET, "The Voice" (4.5/14 in 18-49, 13.3 million viewers overall) led the night, growing versus the prior Tuesday by 13 percent in 18-49 rating (4.5 vs. 4.0, 3.9 in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings) and 14 percent or 1.9 million persons in total viewers (13.313 million vs. 11.418 million). "The Voice" is up 29 percent versus last season's second Tuesday telecast (with a 4.5 rating vs. a 3.5 for a Results Show from 9-10 p.m. on April 10) and up 48 percent in total viewers (13.313 million vs. 8.999 million).

· This is NBC's best non-sports 18-49 rating in the time period since December 8, 2009. "The Voice" is up 125 percent versus NBC's average in the time period last season in 18-49 rating (4.5 vs. 2.0) and up 118 percent in total viewers (13.313 million vs. 6.116 million).

· "The Voice" is the #1 telecast of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49, total viewers and other key categories, winning its the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key measure. Versus 8-9 p.m. results for "The Voice" on the prior night, last night's telecast is up 2 percent in 18-49 rating (4.5 vs. 4.4).

· From its first half-hour to its second, "The Voice" grew by 0.9 of a point or 22 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 5.0 from a 4.1) and by 18 percent or 2.2 million person in total viewers (14.4 million vs. 12.2 million).

· At 9 p.m. ET, "Go On" (3.3/9 in 18-49, 9.3 million in total viewers) retained 97 percent of last week's 18-49 rating for the show's time-period premiere (3.4) and retained 96 percent in total viewers (9.325 vs. 9.726 million). Last night's "Go On" won the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in all key categories. "Go On" is up 38 percent versus NBC's average in the time period last season in 18-49 rating (3.3 vs. 2.4) and up 37 percent in total viewers (9.325 vs. 6.820 million).

· At 9:30 p.m. ET, "The New Normal" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 6.2 in total viewers) retained 88 percent of last week's 18-49 rating for the series' regular-slot debut (2.5) and retained 89 percent in total viewers (6.204 million vs. 6.962 million). Last night's "New Normal" topped the ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox slot competition in adults 18-49 and other key demographics.

· At 10 p.m. ET, "Parenthood" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 5.0 million in total viewers) retained 95 percent of last week's 18-49 rating for the show's season premiere and retained 92 percent in total viewers (5.036 million vs. 5.484 million). "Parenthood" is up 6 percent in 18-49 versus its last four telecasts of last season (1.8 vs. 1.7) and up 5 percent in total viewers (5.036 million vs. 4.796 million). "Parenthood" was #1 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49 and other key demographics.

· NBC ranked #1 among adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox during six of the night's six half-hours in 18-49.

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.3/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 4.0/10; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.1/8; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.4/4.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.7/3; "Late Show," 1.1/6; "Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.2/4 in metered-market households) trailed CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.9/7). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) trailed "Late Late Show" (0.6/4).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
