UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - September 20, 2012 - In a week of mostly encore telecasts in the time slot, NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" out-delivered the ABC and CBS time-period competition for the week of September 10-14. Jay generated bigger audiences than CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" in every key ratings category: adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. The "Tonight" rebroadcasts also out-delivered ABC's combination of "Nightline" originals and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" encores head to head in the hour in adults and men 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; adults, men and women 25-54; and total viewers.

At 12:35 a.m. ET, Jimmy Fallon also prevailed in every key category versus CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," while delivering bigger audiences than "Kimmel" head to head in their common half-hour in adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; adults and women 25-54; and total viewers.

Through the first 52 weeks of the 2011-12 broadcast year, "Tonight" has stretched its total-viewer margin over "Late Show" to 23 percent (3.651 million vs. 2.974 million), up from the year-ago season-to-date advantage of 15 percent, while increasing its 25-54 advantage to 11 percent (1.396 million vs. 1.254 million) from last year's 10 percent and its 18-34 lead to 26 percent (345,000 vs. 274,000) from last year's 25 percent.

Jimmy Fallon has established a total-viewer lead over "Late Late Show" this season of 22 percent (1.746 million vs. 1.430 million), up from last year's advantage of 7 percent. Jimmy has also increased his season-to-date lead over "Late Late Show" in adults 18-49 to 24 percent (703,000 vs. 566,000), up from last year's 22 percent; in adults 18-34 to 55 percent (275,000 vs. 177,000), up from last year's 31 percent; and in adults 25-54 to 17 percent (840,000 vs. 715,000), up from 9 percent at this point last season.

"Tonight" delivered a bigger 18-49 audience than "Late Show" for the 33rd time in their last 37 head-to-head weeks (excludes weeks of Olympic preemptions) and 15th week in a row, while Jimmy Fallon has attracted a bigger 18-49 audience than "Late Late Show" for each of their last 40 head-to-head weeks.
