Friday Primetime Results:
* At 9 p.m. ET, "Grimm" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers
overall) captured the #1 rating of the night for a scripted program on ABC, CBS and NBC and Fox in 18-49 for a fourth straight week. Note that last week "Grimm" delivered the highest percentage time-shifting increases of any primetime series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox when going from these next-day "live plus same day" Nielsens to "live plus three day" figures, growing by 60 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.51 from a
1.57) and by 43 percent in total viewers (to 7.1 million from 5.0 million).
* At 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 5.0 million
viewers overall) matched its top Friday 18-49 rating since June 1 and hit a season high in total viewers, despite last night's special competition from Fox's coverage of the National League Championship Series Game 5. "Dateline" grew week to week in total viewers by 6 percent (to 4.996 million from 4.701 million). "Dateline" was the #1 non-sports choice in the hour on ABC, CBS and NBC in adult 18-34, men
18-34 (tie) and women 18-34.
* From its first half-hour to its second, "Dateline" grew by 8
percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.4 rating from a 1.3), 6 percent in adults 25-54 (1.9 vs. 1.8) and 9 percent in total viewers (5.2 million vs. 4.8 million), to rank #1 or tied for #1 among non-sports programs on ABC, CBS and NBC from 10:30-11 in adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and men 25-54.
* At 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Grimm" averaged a 0.6/2 in
18-49 and 2.6 million viewers overall.
In late-night metered-market households Friday night:
* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.5/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.4/6; and ABC's combo of "Nightline,"
3.1/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.5/4 with an encore.
* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results
were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/3; "Nightline," 1.0/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.
* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.3/4 in
metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).
* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 in
metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
