Friday Primetime Results:
NBC ranked #1 Friday night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49, led
by the second-highest Friday "Grimm" ever, a two-year non-sports slot
high from "Mockingbird Lane" and a season high for "Dateline."
* At 8 p.m. ET, "Mockingbird Lane" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.4 million
viewers overall) scared up NBC's best non-sports 18-49 rating in the
slot since October 8, 2010 ("Dateline," 1.6). In total viewers, it
was an NBC non-sports high in the slot since March 23 ("Who Do You
Think You Are," 5.6 million). "Mockingbird Lane" ranked #2 in the
time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and most other
key demos and tied for #1 among those networks in women 25-54. From
its first half-hour to its second, "Mockingbird Lane" grew by 7
percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.5).
* At 9 p.m. ET, "Grimm" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers
overall) captured the show's second-highest Friday rating ever, behind
only its October 28, 2011 series debut. In total viewers (6.0
million), it's the biggest audience for "Grimm" on any night of the
week since the second telecast of the series on November 4, 2011.
* "Grimm" locked up the #1 18-49 rating of the night on ABC, CBS,
NBC and Fox, marking the fifth straight week "Grimm" has been Friday's
top scripted show on those networks. In the time period, "Grimm" was
#1 or tied for #1 among those networks in every key demographic.
"Grimm" won the hour by a 36 percent margin in adults 18-49 over the
1.4 ratings of CBS's "CSI: NY" and ABC's "All Access Nashville with
Katie Couric."
* "Grimm" increased its rating from its first half-hour to its
second in every key ratings measure - adults, men and women 18-34,
18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.
* Keep in mind that last season, "Grimm" originals added an
average 69 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" 18-49
ratings when Nielsen issued "live plus seven day" results.
* At 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 4.5 million
viewers overall) reported its highest in-season 18-49 rating since
February 10 to finish #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the time period in
that key demo. "Dateline" grew week to week in 18-49 rating by 15
percent (to a 1.5 from a 1.3).
* NBC won the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49,
adults 25-54 and most other key demos. NBC's average 1.6 in 18-49
for the night is the network's highest Friday rating with non-sports
programming since September 23, 2011. It's NBC's first outright
Friday win among those networks with non-sports programming since
December 16, 2011
In late-night metered-market households Friday night:
* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.0/7; CBS's "Late Show with David
Letterman," 2.4/6; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.5/8; and "Jimmy
Kimmel Live," 1.8/5.
* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results
were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2;
"Nightline," 1.1/5; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.
* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in
metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig
Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late
Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) trailed "Late Late Show" (0.4/2).
* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 in
metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49
in the 25 markets with local people meters.
