Friday Primetime Results:
* At 8 p.m. ET, "Fashion Star" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.0 million
viewers overall) maintained its premiere rating of the prior week in
18-49 and is virtually matching its debut total viewership from last week as well (2.960 million vs. 2.961 million), pending updates.
* At 9 p.m. ET, "Grimm" (1.4/5 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers
overall) ranked #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in
18-49 and is the hour's #1 scripted program among those networks in all key demographics. "Grimm" built on its lead-in by 75 percent in 18-49 rating and 65 percent in total viewers.
* Note that in the fourth quarter, "Grimm" originals grew by 73
percent over these next-day "live plus same day" numbers in 18-49 when Nielsen reported additional time-shifting viewership in "live plus seven day" results (to a 2.86 rating from a 1.65).
* From 10-11 p.m. ET, "Rock Center with Brian Williams" averaged a
0.7/2 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall. "Rock Center"
maintained its 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its second.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday night:
* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.5/6; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.5/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5 with an encore.
* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49
Wednesday results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/3 with an encore.
* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline"
averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.6/5
in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.7/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).
* The 0.7 for Jimmy Fallon is his highest Friday rating in the
Local People Meters in 10 weeks, since January 4 (0.7), and equals the top "Late Night" Friday result since July 20, 2012 (0.9), the night of the London Olympics Opening Ceremony. Friday's guests included Justin Timberlake and Hayden Panettiere and Timberlake was also the musical guest.
* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 in
metered-market households with an encore and a 0.5/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
* The 0.5 for Carson Daly is his highest Friday rating in the
Local People Meters in 13 months, since February 3, 2012 (0.5).
