Multiplatform Viewing: ABC's "Scandal" Premiere Surges 91% Over Last Year to 17.8 Million
· Total Viewer Multiplatform: When looking at TV based on the Total Viewer average audience, the premiere drew 10.5 million total viewers in the Live + Same Day window, plus an additional 2.8 million timeshifted viewers in days 1-3. The Tuesday encore garnered 3.0 million viewers (Live + Same Day), and the episode was viewed 1.4 million times across ABC's Full Episode Player and Hulu over its first 5 days.
· Year to Year: Scandal's total multiplatform viewing grew by +91% over its season premiere last year. Even without the inclusion of this year's encore, Scandal's TV viewing grew +51% and online viewing nearly tripled (+186%).
· Social: The premiere of Scandal at 10pm delivered 713k tweets, which was the show's highest social delivery to date and the highest for any broadcast series telecast this season. The premiere was up +22% from May's season finale (583k tweets) and up +714% from last fall's premiere (88k tweets). The premiere of Scandal ranked #1 for the week as the most social broadcast program.
