ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Hits New Multi-Month Highs for the 3rd Week in a Row
During the week of October 7, 2013, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live grew for the 2nd consecutive week of the new season in Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 18-49 (+7%) to draw its biggest overall audience in 6 months and score its best young adult number in 4 months - since the weeks of 4/15/13 and 6/17/13, respectively. In fact, excluding the NBA finals weeks in June, JKL delivered its best Adult 18-49 performance since its first week at 11:35pm in January - since the week of 1/7/13. For the 2nd week in a row, JKL was up week to week in Adults 18-49 (+7%), while both NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (-4%) and CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman (-4%) were both down from the prior week.
JKL has posted enormous double-digit gains over the year-ago week in all 3 weeks of the new season to date in Total Viewers (+63%) and Adults 18-49 (+74%).

With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m. during the third week of the new season (week of October 7, 2013), ABC was up week to week in late-night for the 2nd straight week with Total Viewers (+11% - 2.428 million vs. 2.183 million) and Adults 18-49 (+7% - 872,000 vs. 813,000) to attract its biggest audience since April and deliver its best performance among young adults since June - since the weeks of 4/15/13 and 6/17/13, respectively. In fact, ABC has been the only broadcaster to grow its numbers over the prior week in late-night in each week of the new season in either Total Viewers or Adults 18-49.
ABC was up over the year-ago week (2.205 million and 673,000 on w/o 10/8/12) by 10% in Total Viewers and by 30% in Adults 18-49, marking its 3rd straight week of year-over-year growth in the key young adult demo.
· For the 2nd week in a row, ABC ranked as the week's No. 1 broadcaster in late-night in Adults 18-49 (872,000), widening its advantages over NBC to 10% (795,000) and CBS to 46% (599,000).
· ABC was also the most-watched network in late-night (2.428 million), outdrawing NBC by 10% (2.203 million) and CBS by 17% in Adults 18-49 (2.084 million).

ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.684 million Total Viewers, 742,000 Adults 25-54 and 584,000 Adults 18-49 for the week of October 7, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research. "Nightline" outperformed CBS' "The Late Late Show" by its largest margins of the season yet in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+295,000), Adults 25-54 (+124,000) and Adults 18-49 (+122,000). "Nightline" has beaten the CBS program in all key target demos for the last 6 weeks.
"Nightline" claimed the No. 1 telecast in Total Viewers (1.856 million) and Adults 25-54 (907,000) on Wednesday (10/9/13), beating both CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.663 million and 739,000, respectively) and NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.735 million and 819,000, respectively).
Growing over the previous week (1.591 million, 696,000 and 548,000, respectively, on w/o 9/30/13) for the 3rd week in a row in Total Viewers (+6%), Adults 25-54 (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+7%), "Nightline" turned in its strongest numbers in 4 months - since w/o 6/10/13, 6/17/10 and w/o 6/17/13, respectively.
"Nightline" posted across-the-board year-to-year gains on ABC's performance in the time period in Total Viewers (+15%), Adults 25-54 (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+13%) - 1.467 million, 711,000, and 516,000, respectively, on w/o 10/8/13. Further, "Nightline" has improved on ABC's Total Viewer numbers in the time-slot for the last 7 weeks.
