UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - November 5, 2013 - NBC has won week six of the 2013-14 season in adults 18-49 and has now taken five of six weeks this season, finishing #2 only once behind a week in which Fox carried World Series coverage on four of seven nights. According to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research, NBC averaged a 2.4 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 7.4 million viewers overall for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3.

"Sunday Night Football" is #1 for the week on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and the top three non-news / non-sports telecasts on those nets were the Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" and Monday's "The Blacklist," which was also the week's #1 drama on the Big 4 nets

"Sunday Night Football" is #1 for the week on the Big 4 nets in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54; men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54; plus teens 12-17, and Monday's "The Voice" is #1 on those nets in women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

Through six weeks of the new season, NBC is equaling its year-ago 3.1 rating in adults 18-49, to match the network's highest six-week average in six years (since 2007, 3.5).

NBC is leading the season by 0.4 of a point or 15% (with a 3.1 rating vs. Fox's 2.7), the biggest margins in four years for any net six weeks into the season (since baseball-boosted Fox led by 0.5 of a point or 16% in 2009). NBC is also leading the season among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demos.

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the season, its highest total-viewer ranking six weeks into the season in 11 years (since 2002).

NBC's season average of 9.6 million viewers is its biggest overall audience six weeks into the season in seven years (since 2006, 10.3 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up 11% season to date in total viewers (9.6 million vs. 8.6 million).

Primetime averages for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3 in adults 18-49 are: NBC, 2.4/7; Fox, 2.3/7; CBS, 2.2/6; ABC, 1.9/6; and CW, 0.6/2. In overall total viewers, the weekly averages were: CBS, 10.5 million; Fox, 7.7 million; NBC, 7.4 million; ABC, 7.4 million; and CW, 1.6 million.

Season-to-date averages are: NBC, 3.1/9; Fox, 2.7/8; CBS, 2.6/8; ABC, 2.4/7; and CW, 0.8/2. In overall total viewers, the season averages are: CBS, 11.7 million; NBC, 9.6 million; ABC, 8.5 million; Fox, 8.1 million; and CW, 1.9 million.

NBC highlights for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3:

Monday: "The Voice" (4.3 rating, 11 share in adults 18-49, 13.2 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) is #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, despite World Series competition. "The Voice" is #1 for the night on those networks in 18-49 and other key categories. "The Voice" matched the week's 4.3 rating in 18-49.

From 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Blacklist" (3.1/8 in adults 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall) was up 3% week to week in 18-49 rating despite this week's competition from the strongest primetime hour of World Series Game 5, and also generated a 1% increase in total viewers (10.511 million vs. 10.437 million). This week's "Blacklist" delivered a three-week high in 18-49 rating and is matched the show's highest rating since its second telecast on Sept. 30. "The Blacklist" was the #1 non-sports telecast in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in every key demographic, with an adult 18-49 margin among non-sports programs on those nets of 48% versus ABC's Castle" (3.1 vs. 2.1).

"Live Plus Three Day": "The Blacklist" delivered the second biggest "live plus three day" increase in U.S. television history in total viewership, growing by 4.947 million persons from 10.511 million viewers in "live plus same day" to 15.458 million in L+3. The only telecast ever to add more viewers in L+3 is the Sept. 30 "Blacklist," which grew by 5.081 million persons, raising its 11.348 million in L+SD to 16.429 million viewers in L+3. The 47% lift ties the prior week for the biggest percentage increase to date for "The Blacklist" in total viewers. In adults 18-49, the Oct. 28 "Blacklist" delivered its biggest L+3 gains to date on both a percentage basis and by rating point, adding 56% or 1.70 rating points to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (to a 4.76 in L+3 from a 3.06 in L+SD).

"The Blacklist" has now generated the three biggest L+3 lifts of all time versus L+SD in total viewers across broadcast and cable (+5.081 million on Sept. 30, +4.947 million on Oct. 28 and +4.916 million on Oct. 21).

Week-to-Week Gains in L+3: In 18-49, "Blacklist" has generated week-to-week growth during each of the last three weeks (from a 4.53 in L+3 on Oct. 7, to a 4.54 on Oct. 14, to a 4.57 on Oct. 21, to a 4.76 on Oct. 28 in L+3). In total viewers, "Blacklist" has generated week-to-week growth the last two weeks (from 15.1 million in L+3 on Oct. 14, to 15.4 million on Oct. 21, to 15.5 million on Oct. 28 in L+3).

"Live Plus Seven Day": The Oct. 14 episode of "The Blacklist" added 5.524 million persons or 51%in L+7 (to 16.452 million from 10.928 million in next-day "live plus same day" results). In adults 18-49, the Oct. 14 "Blacklist" added 64% or 1.95 rating points to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (to a 4.99 in L+7 from a 3.04 in L+SD)..

Tuesday: NBC finished #1 Tuesday night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, giving the network six wins on the season's first six Tuesday for the first time in the history of Nielsen's current People Meter sample, dating back to 1983.

"The Biggest Loser" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 6.1 viewers overall from 8-9 p.m.) finished #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "Loser" grew half-hour to half-hour in every key ratings category, including an 18% gain in adults 18-49 (to a 2.0 from a 1.7) and a 33% gain in adults 18-34 (1.5 vs. 1.2).

"The Voice" (3.6/10 in 18-49, 11.6 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) was the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49 and other key measures. The two-hour "Knockout Round" "Voice" won it time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key demographic.

Wednesday: "Revolution" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 4.9 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) matched its 18-49 rating of the prior two weeks and retained 97% of the previous week's overall viewership (with 4.9 million vs. 5.0 million). This week's "Revolution" improved by 17% on NBC's time-period result for the same night last year in 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.2) and by 39% in total viewers (4.9 million vs. 3.5 million).

L+3: The Oct. 30 "Revolution" added 53% or 0.72 of a point to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (to a 2.07 in L+3 from a 1.35 in L+SD) and in total viewers, added 38% or 1.844 million persons (6.717 million vs. 4.873 million. L+7: The Oct. 30 "Revolution" added 71% or 1.03 of a point to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (to a 2.48 in L+7 from a 1.45 in L+SD) and in total viewers, added 47% or 2.522 million persons (7.939 million vs. 5.417 million).

From 9:01-11 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall. For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., the "SVU" rebroadcast beat originals of CBS's "CSI" and ABC's "Nashville" in adults 18-34 and women 18-34. L+7: The Oct. 16 "Law & Order: SVU" added 49% or 0.88 rating points to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (to a 2.68 in L+7 from a 1.80 in L+SD) and in total viewers, added 33% or 2.471 million persons (9.950 million vs. 7.479 million).

Thursday: "SNL Halloween" (1.7/6 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall from 8-9:01 p.m. ET) is grabbed NBC's highest non-sports rating in the time period since May 16, the night of the "Office" finale and delivered the net's top total-viewer result in the hour since the "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular."

"Sean Saves the World" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 3.7 million viewers overall from 9:01-9:30 p.m. ET) matched its highest 18-49 rating since the series premiere on Oct. 3. L+3: The prior week's "Sean Saves the World" added 29% or 0.32 of a rating point to its next-day L+SD 18-49 rating (to a 1.42 from a 1.36) and 25% or 737,000 persons in total viewers (4.696 million vs. 3.959 million), generating bigger gains and bigger results than during the prior week. L+7: The Oct. 17 telecast of "Sean Saves the World" added 27% or 0.30 rating points to its L+SD 18-49 rating (1.42 vs. 1.12) and in total viewers, added 22% or 727,000 persons (4.086 million vs. 3.359 million).

"The Michael J. Fox Show" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers from 9:30-10 p.m. ET) retained 100% of its 18-49 lead-in from "Sean." So far this season, "Michael J. Fox" is delivering the biggest average build on its regular 18-49 lead-in (+8%, 1.3 vs. 1.2 L+SD) of any 9:30 comedy on the Big 4 networks this season. L+3: The prior week's "Michael J. Fox Show" added 34% or 0.41 of a rating point to its next-day L+SD 18-49 rating (to a 1.62 from a 1.21) and 24% or 929,000 persons in total viewers (4.685 vs. 3.764 million). L+7: The Oct. 17 episode of "The Michael J. Fox" added 39% or 0.49 rating points to its L+SD 18-49 rating (1.74 vs. 1.25) and in total viewers, added 36% or 1.293 million persons (4.855 million vs. 3.562 million).

"Parenthood" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 3.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) maintained its rating from its first half-hour to its second in adults 18-49 and 25-54 and grew 1% in total viewers (3.692 million vs. 3.654 million), despite the 10 p.m. hour. L+3: The prior week's "Parenthood" added 52% or 0.69 of a rating point to its next-day L+SD 18-49 rating (to a 2.02 from a 1.33) and 43% or 1.704 million persons in total viewers (5.650 million vs. 3.946 million). L+7: The Oct. 17 telecast of "Parenthood" added 76% or 1.00 rating points to its L+SD 18-49 rating (2.32 vs. 1.32) and in total viewers, added 59% or 2.356 million persons (6.379 million vs. 4.023 million).

Friday: "Grimm" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall at 9 p.m. ET) captured the #1 18-49 rating of the night for a scripted series on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. "Grimm" built on its 18-49 lead-in by 114% (to a 1.5 from a 0.7). "Grimm" grew by 15% versus last season's time-period average for NBC in 18-49 (to a 1.5 from a 1.3). L+3: The prior week's "Grimm" added 58% or 1.03 rating points to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (to a 2.80 in L+3 from a 1.77 in L+SD) and in total viewers, added 42% or 2.607 million persons (8.757 million vs. 6.150 million). The 8.757 is a series record for "Grimm" in L+3 total viewers. L+7: Last season, "Grimm" originals added an average 73% in 18-49 to these next-day L+SD ratings when Nielsen issued L+7 results (to a 2.86 from a 1.65).

"Dracula" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 3.4 million viewers overall at 10 p.m. ET) retained 87% of its 18-49 lead-in from "Grimm" to tie for the #2 drama rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox. "Dracula" is up versus NBC's average in the time period last season in 18-49 rating (1.3 vs. 1.2, L+SD non-sports). In the time period, "Dracula" is #1 in adults 18-34 (with a 1.0 rating), men 18-34 (0.9) and men 18-49 (1.1) on ABC, CBS and NBC, and tied for #1 in men 25-54 (1.4). L+3: The prior week's "Dracula" added 56% or 1.00 of a point to its next-day "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (to a 2.79 in L+3 from a 1.79 in L+SD) and in total viewers, added 44% or 2.291 million persons (7.552 million vs. 5.261 million).

Sunday: "Sunday Night Football" (6.3/16 in 18-49, 17.0 million viewers overall from 8:31-11:35 p.m. ET), featuring the Indianapolis Colt at the Houston Texans, ranked #1 Sunday night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 and total viewers, leading NBC to the nightlong win in 18-49 and most other key demographics.

Nine weeks into the NFL season, "Sunday Night Football" is delivering the strongest total-viewer average for a primetime NFL series (12.6 million, L+SD) at this point in the season in 17 years (since ABC's Monday coverage in 1996, 23.6 million).
