Tuesday Results:
· "Chicago Fire" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 9.3 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) set a series record in total viewers, topping the previous high of 8.899 million set with the show's second season premiere on Sept. 24. Week to week, "Chicago Fire" grew 13% or more than a million persons in total viewers (to 9.266 million from 8.216 million). In 18-49, "Chicago Fire" ran within a tenth of a rating point of last week's 2.3, despite special competition last night from CBS's "Victoria's Secret" special, and matched the second highest "Chicago Fire" rating since Oct. 15.
· "Chicago Fire" is up 57% versus the same week last year (when "Chicago Fire" was running Wednesday's at 10 p.m.) in adults 18-49 (2.2 vs. 1.4 on Dec. 12, 2012).
· "The Voice" (3.1/8 in 18-49, 11.2 million viewers overall from 9-10:01 p.m. ET)) won its time period among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demos, airing opposite all original competition on the Big 4 nets, including the second hour of Fox's "American Country Awards,". Half-hour to half-hour, "The Voice" grew in every key measure.
· Versus the comparable telecast in the prior cycle, "The Voice" is up 7% in 18-49 rating (to a 3.1 from a 2.9 on June 11) and up 5% in total viewers (11.211 million vs. 10.659 million).
· "The Biggest Loser" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.2 viewers overall from 8-9 p.m.) won its the hour among the Big 4 in women 18-34 (with a 1.9 rating) and tied for #1 in women 18-34 (1.4).
· "The Biggest Loser" is running within a tenth of a rating point of last week's 2.0 in these preliminary fast-affiliate ratings and within 0.2 of a point of last week's 2.1 in official nationals. Last night's "Biggest Loser" grew or held steady from half-hour to half-hour in every key measure.
· NBC ranked #1 for the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in women 18-49 and women 18-34, despite all-original competition on the other Big 4 networks, including CBS's Victoria's Secret" special (versus last week's repeats for the CBS lineup and ABC's "Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.").
In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.0/8; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.6/7; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.2/6.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.9/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.8/4.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3/ in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
