Original Scripted Program, "When Calls the Heart", Scores Series High
Original Movie, "A Ring by Spring", is #1 Movie of the Week
Ratings flourished at Hallmark Channel on Saturday night with its back-to-back original programming premieres attracting a solid audience. The 7-9 pm premiere of original movie "A Ring by Spring" delivered a 1.7 household rating with 338,000 women 25-54, and tied as the #1 movie of the week on cable. This ratings momentum carried over to 9-10pm time period with the latest episode of the network's original scripted series, "When Calls the Heart", marking a series high, reaching nearly 2.4 million unduplicated viewers and earning a 1.7 household rating.
"A Ring by Spring" attracted more than 2.7 million unduplicated viewers and ranked #1 in HH (1.7 rtg), #2 in W25-54 (.8), and #2 in P2+ (.8 rtg) in the time period for its Saturday night premiere. In "A Ring by Spring", fiercely independent Caryn Briggs is forced to consider marrying her not-so-perfect boyfriend when a gypsy fortuneteller convinces her she must be engaged by the spring or risk a lifetime alone. Caryn begins taking the prophecy to heart when the fortuneteller's other predictions begin to come true. Before long, Caryn finds herself on a journey of self-discovery, hoping to find out if she is meant to be alone all her life, or destined for true love. Film stars Stefanie Powers, Rachel Boston, and Kirby Morrow.
In "When Calls the Heart: Change of Heart", a determined Jack properly asks Elizabeth for a dinner date, finally making his romantic intentions clear. Elizabeth hesitates to make a fuss about her date with Jack, but can't help but be swept away when he surprises her with a very romantic evening at the café, with a little help from Abigail. However, Jack is hiding a secret from Elizabeth that could change the course of their relationship; he has been granted a long-awaited transfer to another post, a request he made when he unhappily arrived in Coal Valley. Episode stars Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, and Lori Loughlin.
