Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "So You Think You Can Dance" Returns on Top

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (5/28/14):

FOX (5.300 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was the demo champ on Wednesday thanks to the return of "So You Think You Can Dance" (5.300 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1).

NBC (4.665 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then claimed the silver with a rebroadcast of "Last Comic Standing" (4.041 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) followed by "Inside the Mind of Edward Snowden - An NBC News Exclusive with Brian Williams" (5.912 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T2).

Next up was CBS (6.327 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) and its all-repeat lineup of "Hawaii Five-0" (5.692 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #11), "Criminal Minds" (7.151 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (6.139 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.102 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) served up repeats of "The Middle" (4.721 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "The Goldbergs" (4.074 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5), "Modern Family" (4.210 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T2), another "The Goldbergs" (3.712 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T5) and a new "Motive" (3.946 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #10).

And finally, a repeat of "Arrow" (0.919 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) and a new "The 100" (1.686 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.6, #12) on The CW (1.302 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Arrow" delivered a 0.2 rating while "100" posted a 0.6 rating.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.0/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (5/29/13):

FOX (5.434 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #1) was the demo king on Wednesday thanks to a new "MasterChef" (5.098 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.0, #2) and a second "MasterChef" (5.770 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1).

NBC (6.475 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) however was the most-watched network with its mix of "Dateline NBC" (7.091 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4), "Healing in the Heartland" (8.564 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.9, #3) and a repeat of "Chicago Fire" (3.769 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.9, #13).

Next up was ABC (4.123 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) and its mix of "The Middle" (4.319 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9), "Family Tools" (3.633 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9), "Modern Family" (4.638 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5), "How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)" (4.014 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #6) and the premiere of "The Lookout" (4.066 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7).

Meanwhile, CBS (5.730 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up the launch of "The American Baking Competition" (5.014 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9) followed by repeats of "Criminal Minds" (5.206 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T9) and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (6.971 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7).
