HGTV SCORES TOP CABLE NETWORK RANKINGS FOR WEEK OF JUNE 2
NEW YORK [For Immediate Release - June 11, 2014] For the first time in its history, HGTV was the #1 rated cable network among W25-54, achieving .77 rating, and a top five rated cable network among P25-54 with a .55 rating. HGTV secured the top rankings from Monday, June 2 through Sunday, June 8 when more than 21.8 million viewers watched the network in primetime. The season two premiere of Brother vs. Brother, as well as breakout hits Flip or Flop, Fixer Upper and Beachfront Bargain Hunt, drove ratings for the week.
On Sunday, June 8, Beachfront Bargain Hunt led the charge into primetime at 8 p.m., delivering double digit ratings gains over the prior four weeks. Brother vs. Brother at 9 p.m., the hit competition series featuring popular twins Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott, garnered a .68 rating among P25-54. In fact, its premiere grew the network's ratings for the Sunday 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time period more than 30 percent.
Earlier in the week, the Tuesday 9 p.m. airing of Flip or Flop, with young married house flippers Tarek and Christina El Moussa, delivered a .65 rating among P25-54. And, on Thursday, network newcomer Fixer Upper, starringhusband and wife home-remodeling team Chip and Joanna Gaines, achieved its best P25-54 rating at 9 p.m. with a .71. Fixer Upper has seen six consecutive weeks of ratings growth since its premiere on Thursday, April 24.
