Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: NBA Finals Continue Their Reign for ABC

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/12/14):

ABC (10.594 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.2, #1) was the top draw on Thursday thanks to its mix of "Jimmy Kimmel: Game Night" (5.890 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.9, #4), "Kia NBA Countdown" (6.479 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.4, #2) and "NBA Finals, Game 4" (12.800 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.2, #1).

FOX (3.748 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then was a distant second place with new episodes of "Hell's Kitchen" (4.773 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.6, #5) and "Gang Related" (2.724 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #14).

Next up was CBS (5.384 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) and its repeat lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (8.181 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3), "Mom" (6.314 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #6), "Two and a Half Men" (5.505 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7), "The Millers" (4.436 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T12) and "Elementary" (3.935 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.847 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T3) served up originals from "Hollywood Game Night" (4.265 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10), "Undateable" (3.295 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T10), another "Undateable" (3.011 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T12) and "Last Comic Standing" (4.122 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T7).

And finally, repeats of "The Vampire Diaries" (0.579 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T15) and "The Originals" (0.575 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T15) closed out the evening on The CW (0.576 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Diaries" delivered a 0.1 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Originals" a 0.1 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.9/7,; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.0/5; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.1/7, delayed by an NBA overrun.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.2/5,; "Late Show," 0.3/1; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.9/6, delayed by an NBA overrun.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," delayed by an NBA overrun, averaged a 1.4/6 in metered-market households and a 0.6/4 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/4 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly," averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/13/13):

ABC (11.844 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 4.7, #1) of course was the network to beat on Thursday with its mix of "Jimmy Kimmel: Game Night" (7.190 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3), "Kia NBA Countdown" (7.325 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.7, #2) and "NBA Finals, Game 4" (14.137 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.8, #1).

FOX (3.767 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) then was a distant second place with new episodes of "Hell's Kitchen" (5.092 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T4) and "Does Someone Have to Go?" (2.442 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #9).

Next up was CBS (6.519 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) and its all-repeat lineup of "The Big Bang Theory" (8.348 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.0, #T4), "Two and a Half Men" (6.361 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #6), "Person of Interest" (6.568 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) and "Elementary" (5.633 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7).

Meanwhile, NBC (1.967 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up a repeat of "Save Me" (2.462 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) followed by the series finale of "Save Me" (2.220 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11), repeats of "The Office" (1.593 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) and "Parks & Recreation" (1.516 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T11) plus a new "Hannibal" (2.006 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #10).

And finally, repeats of "The Vampire Diaries" (0.869 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) and "Beauty and the Beast" (0.631 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #16) on The CW (0.750 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night.
