Tuesday Results:
Despite airing an encore "America's Got Talent," NBC won Tuesday night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure, with the #1 show of the night on those nets in every key demographic, "America's Got Talent."
· An encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" (1.9/7 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) retained 90% of Sunday's 9-11 p.m. original run of this episode in adults 18-49 (1.9 vs. 2.1) and retained 97% in total viewers (7.899 million vs. 8.120 million). "Talent" is the #1 Big 4 telecast of the night in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 -- and also won its two hour time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in every key measure - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers. In adults 18-49, the "Talent" encore won the slot among the Big 4 by a +90% margin (1.9 vs. a 1.0 for ABC's original "Extreme Weight Loss" and CBS's drama rebroadcasts).
· The 1.9 rating matches the highest for an "America's Got Talent" encore in two years (since Tuesday, May 29, 2012). In total viewers, the 7.9 million makes this the most-watched "Talent" rebroadcast in three years (since Wednesday, June 22, 2011).
· Despite this week's encore lead-in, "The Night Shift" (1.2/4 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) nearly matched last week's 1.3 rating in 18-49, retaining 92% of that week-ago rating even with a drop in lead-in of 0.9 of a point or 31% in the 9:30 half-hour (2.0 this week, 2.9 last week). In total viewers, "Night Shift" is currently retaining 97% of last week's result (6.042 million vs. 6.250 million), despite a drop of 4.0 million viewers or 32% in the 9:30 half-hour with the switch from a "Talent" original to a "Talent" encore (8.2 million in the half-hour this week vs. 12.2 million last week).
· "The Night Shift" is currently running within 0.1 of the slot lead among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49 and is #1 in total viewers (6.042 million) and tied for #1 in adults 25-54, women 25-54, men 18-49 and men 18-34.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.2/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.2/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
