Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: Another Week, Another "Got Talent" Victory

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (6/24/14):

NBC (7.280 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) was still the top draw on Tuesday thanks to a two-hour "America's Got Talent" (7.899 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) and "The Night Shift" (6.042 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3).

ABC (3.583 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.1, #2) then claimed the silver with originals from "Extreme Weight Loss" (3.489 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5) and "Celebrity Wife Swap" (3.769 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2).

Next up was CBS (6.814 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and its repeat mix of "NCIS" (8.743 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (6.843 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T5) and "Person of Interest" (4.856 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).

Meanwhile, FOX (1.366 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.6, #4) offered up second runs of "Family Guy" (1.949 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7), "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.261 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.6, #9), another "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.213 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10) and "The Mindy Project" (1.040 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10).

And finally, a new "Famous in 12" (0.596 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.2, #13) and a repeat of "Supernatural" (0.637 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.3, #12) closed out the night over on The CW (0.617 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Famous" delivered a 0.1 rating while "Supernatural" posted a 0.3 rating.

In late-night metered market ratings (via NBC's press release):

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.2/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.2/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/4 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.4/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.7/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore) tied CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.0/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/2 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/2).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 11 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (6/25/13):

NBC (8.009 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday thanks to a new two-hour "America's Got Talent" (9.967 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.6, #1). Leading off the night was a repeat of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (4.033 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4) followed by an original "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" (4.153 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4).

FOX (4.415 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then took home the silver with its weekly telecast of "So You Think You Can Dance" (4.415 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2).

Next up was ABC (3.544 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with the return of "Extreme Weight Loss" (3.915 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) plus a repeat of "Body of Proof" (2.804 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.7, #9).

Meanwhile, CBS (6.377 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.9, #4) offered up repeats of "NCIS" (8.044 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #6), "NCIS: Los Angeles" (5.994 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7) and "Person of Interest" (5.093 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T7).

And finally, repeats of "Hart of Dixie" (0.830 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T10) and "America's Next Top Model" (0.646 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.2, #T10) on The CW (0.738 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Dixie" delivered a 0.2 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Model" a 0.3 rating at 9:00/8:00c.
