Beverly Hills, Calif., August 6, 2014 -STARZ Original Series and summer breakout hit "Power," finished strong in its season finale and has averaged about 4 million viewers per week to-date, with strong viewership among White and African-American viewers - both male and female audiences (18-49).* The New York-based drama, which has resonated strongly with African-American viewers throughout its eight-episode first season and stars Omari Hardwick, will premiere to more than 10 million new households on ENCORE BLACK beginning Tuesday, August 12 at 10 pm ET/PT with a replay immediately following at 11 pm ET/PT.** "Power" will premiere one episode per week on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT for eight weeks on ENCORE BLACK through September 30. Additional replays will air on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. "Power" episodes will also be made available weekly on ENCORE PLAY.

Viewership for "Power" grew throughout the strong first season. The finale's 9PM results (2.9 HH rating and nearly 1.1 million viewers Live+SD) more than doubled the series premiere results (1.3 HH, 462K Live+SD), as the series became "appointment viewing" for its ever-increasing core audience.***

"Power's" final weekend was also the best to-date. Nearly 2.5 million viewers watched the "Power" season finale over the weekend on STARZ (up more than 20% from the premiere weekend). In fact, "Power's" final weekend outpaced all recent STARZ finale weekends since "Spartacus: War of The Damned." ***

The freshman season of "Power" generated the largest concentration (71%) of African-American viewers of any scripted premium series since 2006.**** Furthermore, only HBO's "Game Of Thrones" and "True Blood" drew larger numbers of African-American viewers of any premium series currently running compared to "Power" on STARZ.*****

With new episode weekend viewership growing throughout the season, "Power" is averaging about 4 million viewers per episode across all platforms including STARZ linear, STARZ ON DEMAND and STARZ PLAY.

About "Power"

"Power" tells the story of a visionary crime drama set in two different worlds, the glamorous New York club scene and the brutal drug trade.

James "Ghost" St. Patrick has it all: a beautiful wife, a gorgeous Manhattan penthouse, and the hottest, up-and-coming new nightclub in New York. His club, Truth, caters to the elite: the famous and infamous boldface names that run the city that never sleeps. As its success grows, so do Ghost's plans to build an empire. However, Truth hides an ugly reality. It's a front for Ghost's criminal underworld; a lucrative drug network, serving only the wealthy and powerful.

As Ghost is seduced by the prospect of a legitimate life, everything precious to him becomes unknowingly threatened. Once you're in, can you ever get out?

The "Power" cast is led by Omari Hardwick (Sparkle, For Colored Girls, Kick Ass, "Being Mary Jane"), Lela Loren (Snitch, "Gang Related"), Naturi Naughton (Fame, "The Client List," "Mad Men"), and Joseph Sikora (Jack Reacher, Safe, "Boardwalk Empire"). Hardwick stars as main character 'James "Ghost" St. Patrick'; Loren plays 'Angela Valdes', an old flame of James's who unexpectedly reenters his life; Naughton will play 'Tasha St. Patrick', wife, confidant and willing accomplice to James and Sikora plays 'Tommy Egan', childhood best friend and business partner to "Ghost."

"Power" was created by Courtney Kemp Agboh (Emmy(R) nominated for "The Good Wife"), who serves as executive producer and showrunner. Mark Canton (300, Immortals, 300: Rise of an Empire), Randall Emmett (End of Watch, 2 Guns, Lone Survivor) and David Knoller ("Big Love," "Carnivàle") also serve as executive producers. The series is produced in association with CBS Television Studios.

"Power" premiered on STARZ with an eight hour-long episode first season and has been renewed for a second season.
