During the week of August 4, 2014, ABC delivered 4 of the Top 20 broadcast programs with Adults 18-49: "CMA Music Festival" - No. 8, "Bachelor in Paradise" - No. 11, "Modern Family-R" - No. 15 and "The Middle-R" -No. 18. ABC's broadcast of the "CMA Music Festival" also finished among the Top 5 most-watched TV programs overall (No. 5).
· ABC marked its 7th straight week of year-to-year Viewership gains (+2% - 4.3 million vs. 4.2 million on w/o 8/5/13), building over the year-ago week for the 9th time in 11 weeks since the end of season.
Summer 2014: Despite airing a 5-game NBA Finals this year versus a 7-game series last year, ABC is growing its overall audience summer to summer (+2% - 5.2 million vs. 5.1 million). In addition, the Net ranks No. 1 this summer in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5 - tied w/NBC) and Adults 18-34 (1.1/5).
Monday
"Bachelor in Paradise" (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 5.3 million and 1.4/5 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:00 p.m., "Bachelor in Paradise" debuted with 5.3 million viewers on average, making ABC the most-watched TV network in the 2-hour time period. The new show built from its first hour to its second hour in Total Viewers (+6% - 5.2 million to 5.5 million). Among Adults 18-49 in its time slot, the freshman ABC unscripted series led NBC's "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" from 8:00-9:00 p.m. (1.4/5 vs. 1.3/5), while tying Fox's "Hotel Hell" from 9:00-10:00 p.m. (1.4/4).
· The series premiere of "Bachelor in Paradise" was the No. 1 most social broadcast series Monday night with 37,508 tweets.
"Mistresses" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 3.5 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "Mistresses" held steady with its most recent telecast two weeks ago in Adults 18-49, pacing within 1-tenth of a rating point (0.9/3 vs. 1.0/3).
Tuesday
"CMA Music Festival" (8:00-11:00 p.m. - 7.3 million and 1.9/6 in AD18-49):
With its broadcast of the "CMA Music Festival," ABC ranked No. 1 on Tuesday across all key Adult demos: AD18-34 (1.4/6-tie), AD18-49 (1.9/6) and AD25-54 (2.3/7-tie).
· In Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, the "CMA Music Festival" earned its 2nd-highest numbers in the last 5 years - since 2009. In addition, the program equaled an 8-year high in Adults 18-34 - since 2006. Please Note: Last year's telecast aired on Monday (8/12/13) and did not face competition from NBC's "America's Got Talent."
· In viewers and young adults, ABC delivered its strongest non-sports summer Tuesday since 2010 (Memorial Day-Labor Day) - since 6/1/10 and 8/24/10, respectively.
Thursday
"The Quest" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 2.2 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49):
At 8:00 p.m., despite airing with just 93% U.S. coverage due to local NFL preemptions, "The Quest" paced within 1-tenth of its week-earlier debut in Adults 18-49 (0.6/2 vs. 0.7/3).
"NY Med" (10:12-11:00 p.m. - 5.0 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
ABC's "NY Med" was the most-watched TV show in Thursday's 10 o'clock hour for the 7th consecutive week (5.0 million).
Friday
"What Would You Do?" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 3.5 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
ABC's "What Would You Do?" ranked No. 1 among the major networks in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3. "WWYD?" improved by 24% in Total Viewers and by 13% in Adults 18-49 over original programming in the hour on the year-ago night ("Would You Fall for That?" on 8/9/13 = 2.9 million and 0.8/3).
"20/20" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 4.3 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
ABC's "20/20" was up over its year-ago telecast (3.4 million and 0.8/3 on 8/9/13) for the 5th straight week in Total Viewers (+26%) and Adults 18-49 (+13%).
