"MADAM SECRETARY" DRAWS 14.3 MILLION VIEWERS
MADAM SECRETARY debuted with 14.3 million viewers, 60 MINUTES had its most-watched season premiere since 1997, and the season premiere of THE GOOD WIFE had its most-watched season premiere since 2011, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, Sept. 21.

From 8:00-9:00 PM, 60 MINUTES (P) was first in viewers (18.17m) and was second behind NBC's football coverage in both adults 25-54 (4.5/11) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10). Compared to last year's premiere (on Sept. 29, 2013, without a football delay), 60 MINUTES was up +105% in adults 25-54 (from 2.2/06), +157% in adults 18-49 (from 1.4/04) and added +7.50m viewers (from 10.67m, +70%). If the ratings hold, 60 MINUTES posted its best season premiere delivery in viewers since 1997 and in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since 2005.
At 9:00 PM, the series premiere of MADAM SECRETARY (P) delivered 14.3 million viewers, 2.9/07 in adults 25-54 and 1.9/05 in adults 18-49.
At 10:00 PM, THE GOOD WIFE (P) averaged 9.95 million viewers, 2.0/05 in adults 25-54 and 1.3/04 in adults 18-49. Compared to last year's premiere, THE GOOD WIFE was up +8% in viewers (+800,000), making this its most-watched season premiere since 2011.
For the night, CBS was first in viewers (17.44m), second in both adults 25-54 (4.7/12) and adults 18-49 (3.8/11) behind NBC's football coverage.
Sunday's premieres also translated to a strong performance online. CBS.com saw double-digit growth across all key metrics over the same night of premieres last year, paced by the series premiere of MADAM SECRETARY and the season premiere of THE GOOD WIFE.
