"GOLD RUSH" SEASON FIVE PREMIERE TOPS CABLE TELEVISION ON FRIDAY
Discovery Channel Ranks #1 in Prime Time on Friday in All of Television Among Men
Discovery Channel's hit series GOLD RUSH returned for a fifth season on Friday, Oct. 17 and was the #1 program in all of cable among Total Viewers P2+ and across all key demos. Friday's season premiere episode was also up double digits vs. the season four premiere. Discovery Channel was the top network on ALL OF TELEVISION among Men for the night.
The two hour season five premiere of GOLD RUSH at 9PM earned a 2.58 HH / 1.83 P25-54 / 2.51 M25-54 / 1.46 P18-49 / 1.93 M 18-49 / 0.92 P18-34 and a 1.21 M18-34 rating and was watched by 3.59 million total viewers P2+. GOLD RUSH beat broadcast programs in Men that included CBS's Amazing Race, Blue Bloods, Hawaii Five-0, ABC's Last Man Standing, 20/20, NBC's Dateline and FOX's Utopia, among others.
The 8PM premiere of The Dirt, the GOLD RUSH preshow hosted by executive producer Christo Doyle, earned a 1.26 HH / 0.89 P25-54 / 1.17 M25-54 / and was watched by 1.76 million total viewers P2+.
Driven by GOLD RUSH and The Dirt, Discovery Channel was the #1 Prime Time network on Friday in all of Television among Men (Men 25-54, Men 18-49 and Men 18-34 delivery) beating CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX in Men for the night.
An all-new episode of GOLD RUSH premieres Friday, Oct. 24 at 9PM.
