HGTV RANKED AMONG TOP 10 NETWORKS FOR SIXTH CONSECUTIVE MONTH
New York [For Immediate Release - October 29, 2014] For the sixth month in a row, HGTV was a top 10 cable network among P25-54 in prime. The network achieved its highest-rated October ever -- growing ratings 7% among P25-54 viewers versus October 2013. HGTV also continued to dominate the cable ratings landscape on weekends, ranking #1 among all viewers W25-54 and among upscale W25-54 on Saturdays and Sundays from 7a - 8p in October. In fact, weekend ratings among P25-54 grew 11% versus weekend ratings among P25-54 in October 2013.
Several HGTV series scored double-digit gains in October, including destination lifestyle series Hawaii Life, Beachfront Bargain HuntandLiving Alaska. On October 21 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, Flip or Flop, the popular house flipping series starring Tarek El Moussa and his wife Christina, grew nearly 60% among recent benchmarks. Viewer favorite series, including House Hunters Renovation and Buying and Selling, also helped drive the network's success in October.
