2014 "THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" PACKAGE ON CBS AND NFL NETWORK IS HIGHEST-RATED AND MOST-WATCHED TNF SEASON EVER
"THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" Earns Average of 12.3 Million Viewers and
Rates 7.6/13, Each Up 52%
For the 16 games of the 2014 schedule, THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL on CBS and NFL Network (and over-the air stations) averaged a national household rating/share of 7.6/13, up 52% compared to last year's 5.0/8; and 12.3 million viewers, up 52% compared to last year's 8.1 million for the 13 games in 2013 on NFL Network and over-the-air stations making it the highest-rated and most-watched THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL season ever.
All eight THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL games on CBS/NFL Network during Weeks 2-8, & 16 resulted in the No. 1-rated and most-watched program on television in primetime for that night across all networks. In addition, the simulcast on NFL Network was the No. 1-rated and most-watched program on cable television for Weeks 2, 4, 6, & 8.
All seven THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL primetime games on NFL Network and over-the-air stations (Weeks 9-16) were the highest-rated and most-watched program on cable television for each of the Thursday nights they aired.
The eight THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL games in 2014 on NFL Network (and over-the-air stations) earned a national rating/share of 5.2/9, up 11% vs. the comparable six games in 2013, and averaged 8.5 million viewers, up 8% from last year.
The highest-rated and most-watched game on CBS/NFL Network during Weeks 2-8 & 16 was the first THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL game of the season in Week 2 (9/11) when Pittsburgh-Baltimore delivered a 12.7/22 and 20.8 million viewers.
The highest-rated and most-watched game on NFL Network and over-the-air stations during Weeks 9-16 was the Week 14 (12/4) game between Dallas-Chicago which delivered a 6.7/11 HH rating/share and 11.2 million viewers. Additionally, the Week 14 Dallas-Chicago game was the highest-rated and most-watched program across all networks for the night.
