Adult Swim Ranks as Basic Cable's #1 Network for Total Day Delivery Among Adults and Men 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49 Across the Second Week of January

Adult Swim

Across the second week of January 2015, Adult Swim ranked as basic cable's #1 network for Total Day Delivery among adults and men 18-24, 18-34 & 18-49.

Friday night's premiere of Newsreaders (12a) ranked #1 in its timeslot among adults 18-24. Saturday night's premiere of Black Dynamite (10:30p) was #1 in its timeslot among adults and men 18-24 and 18-34 and was followed by a strong Toonami block with six time period winners between 12 and 2:30 a. Additionally, Bob's Burgers (Sunday, 10p) was #1 in its timeslot among men 18-24 and 18-34.

Adult Swim programming - including telecasts of Family Guy, American Dad, Robot Chicken, The Cleveland Show, Mr. Pickles and Superjail! - accounted for 37 of the top 50 telecasts on basic cable for the week among adults 18-34, more than any other network.

TBS

TBS won the week in linear television performance by ranking as basic cable's #1 network in primetime delivery of adults 18-49, extending its victory from 2014.

The Jan. 6 episode and encore of TBS's Ground Floor has scored a combined delivery of 2 million viewers in Live + 3, including 1 million adults 18-49. For the season-to-date, Ground Floor is reaching an average of 3.1 million viewers each episode for premieres, encores and multiplatform plays.

Cougar Town's season premiere and same-night encore on Jan. 6 has drawn a combined audience of 2 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery, with 1.2 million adults 18-49. With all replays and multiplatform viewing included, the first episode of Cougar Town's sixth and final season has reached 2.7 million viewers so far.

The Big Bang Theory on TBS claimed the Top 25 sitcom telecasts for the week among total viewers and adults 18-49.

TNT

Last week's episodes of the hit TNT series Major Crimes and The Librarians ranked as basic cable's Top 2 scripted originals for the week among total viewers in linear television viewing. Major Crimes was also most-watched program for all of cable for the week.

Major Crimes and The Librarians continue to perform exceptionally well across TNT's multiple platforms. Since premiering in December, The Librarians has scored an average reach of 13.3 million viewers per episode through linear telecasts, DVR playback and VOD, digital and mobile viewing, an increase of 800,000 viewers compared to its season-to-date average the prior week. And in its third season, Major Crimes is reaching an average of 9.4 million viewers across multiple platforms, an increase of 200,000 viewers over its season-to-date average last week.

TNT's shows are performing exceptionally well in time-shifted viewing, with last week's episode of Major Crimes climbing to 7.6 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery (+3% vs. the prior week) and the Jan. 4 episode of The Librarians scoring 6.3 million viewers in Live + 3. In addition, Friday night's Season 3 premiere and same-night encore of Cold Justice drew a combined audience of 2.7 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery (+11% vs. its January 2014 premiere).

Cartoon Network

For the second week of January 2015, Cartoon Network ranked as basic cable's #1 network for Total Day delivery among all targeted boy demos and #2 in Total Day delivery among kids 6-11 and 9-14. Compared to the same time period in 2014, Total Day delivery grew by strong double digits - kids 2-11 improved by 22%, kids 6-11 by 29% and kids 9-14 by 14%.

Cartoon Network was the #1 destination vs. all TV with kids 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14 on Thursday night.

Saturday Morning programming (7-11a) earned year-over-year double-digit delivery gains among all targeted kids demos, ranging from 6% to 47%.

NBA TV

For the week of Jan. 5, NBA TV's total day viewership was +38% and generated significant growth across all key demos, including +45% with adults 18-49, +53% with men 18-49 and +40% with men 18-34. Additionally, the original airing of the weekly NBA Inside Stuff series on Saturday, Jan. 10, was up by +133% among total viewers over the comparable episode last year, and premiere episodes of The Starters were +30% in total viewers over the same week in 2013.
