"THE ORIGINALS" AND "JANE THE VIRGIN" COMBINE TO GIVE THE CW ITS MOST WATCHED MONDAY IN MORE THAN THREE YEARS
THE ORIGINALS Scores its Most Watched Episode of the Season
JANE THE VIRGIN Continues to Rise with Most Watched Episode Since its Debut and Matching Series Highs in Adults and Women 18-34
January 27, 2015 (Burbank, CA) - All new episodes of THE ORIGINALS and JANE THE VIRGIN combined to give The CW its most watched Monday night (1.648M) in more than three years (since 10/24/11) and its best Monday night in adults 18-49 (0.7/2) and women 18-49 (0.9/2) in more than two years (12/17/12), according to preliminary Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Monday, January 26, 2015.
THE ORIGINALS scored its most watched episode (1.699M) of the season last night.
JANE THE VIRGIN continues to grow since star Gina Rodriguez's Golden Globe win, with its most watched episode (1.597M) and highest adults 18-49 rating (0.6/2) since its series debut on 10/13/14. It matched last week's series highs in adults 18-34 (0.6/2) and in women 18-34 (0.9/3), and hit a new series high in women 18-49 (0.9/2).
Week to week, THE ORIGINALS rose +12% in total viewers, +20% in adults 18-34 (0.6/2), and +17% in A18-49 (0.7/2). JANE THE VIRGIN grew by +15% in total viewers and by +20% in adults 18-49.
Versus this same Monday night last season, The CW was up +66% in total viewers, +75% in adults 18-49 and doubled its ratings in adults 18-34 (0.6/2), and in women 18-34 (0.8/2).
Both THE ORIGINALS and JANE THE VIRGIN see significant increases when delayed viewing is factored in, with THE ORIGINALS gaining +66% in total viewers, +74% in adults 18-34, +78% in women 18-34, and +77% in adults 18-49 in Live + 7 Day data versus Live + Same Day alone. JANE sees gains of +55% in total viewers, +65% in adults 18-34, +68% in women 18-34, and +61% in adults 18-49
