ABC Wins 2nd Straight Monday - Bachelor Hits New Season Highs
ABC Monday Prime (8-11pm - 8.1 million and 2.1/6 in AD18-49): With The Bachelor and Castle, ABC won Monday for the 2nd week in a row in Adults 18-49, leading runner-up CBS by 17% (2.1/6 vs. 1.8/5). Also for the 2nd week in a row, ABC's The Bachelor was Monday's highest-rated TV show in Adults 18-49, ranking #1 in each of its half-hours.
The Bachelor (8-10pm - 8.4 million and 2.5/7 in AD18-49): From 8-10pm, ABC's The Bachelor outdelivered NBC's Celebrity Apprentice head to head by double digits in Total Viewers (+22% - 8.4 million vs. 6.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+19% - 2.5/7 vs. 2.1/6). The Bachelor was up for the 3rd straight week in Total Viewers (+5% - 8.4 million vs. 8.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (+9% - 2.5/7 vs. 2.3/6) to score new season highs on both counts.
· In addition to winning the night in Adults 18-49, The Bachelor was Monday's #1 TV series for the 5th time in as many weeks in Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49).
Castle (10-11pm - 7.5 million and 1.4/4 in AD18-49): At 10pm, ABC's Castle defeated NBC's State of Affairs 2.8 million viewers (7.5 million vs. 4.7 million) and by 27% in Adults 18-49 (1.4/4 vs. 1.1/3).
· Based on the most recent round of Live + 7 Day ratings (w/o 1/12/15), ABC's Castle recorded a series-best 85% jump in Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 (going from a 1.3 rating to a 2.4 rating).

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
