DISNEY CHANNEL AND DISNEY XD SIMULCAST OF "PENN ZERO: PART-TIME HERO" PREMIERE DELIVERS NEARLY 3 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS
"Bad Hair Day"
The premiere of the Disney Channel Original Movie "Bad Hair Day" (Friday, February 13, 8:00 p.m., ET/PT), starring Laura Marano ("Austin & Ally") and Leigh-Allyn Baker ("Good Luck Charlie"), ranked as the #1 cable TV telecast of 2015 to-date among the targeted Kids 2-11 (2.0 million/5.1 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.6 million/6.9 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.4 million/5.9 rating - tie) demographics. It was also the #1 kids' cable TV telecast of the year in Total Viewers (4.0 million - #2 cable TV movie).
As part of its multi-platform offerings, Disney Channel made the movie available early to verified users on the WATCH Disney XD app, allowing viewers to watch on tablets, phones, computers and set top boxes. Since February 6, "Bad Hair Day" amassed nearly half-a-million video starts (435,000) on WATCH Disney Channel.
2015 to-date, Disney Channel has delivered the year's Top 5 cable TV telecasts among Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14, led by "Bad Hair Day" and the new series "K.C. Undercover."
"Bad Hair Day" was executive-produced by Leigh-Allyn Baker, Joel S. Rice, Michael Prupas, Denise Carlson and Dawn Wolfrom. It is a production of Muse Entertainment Enterprises.
"Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero"
Premiering with a Disney Channel and Disney XD simulcast, the new animated comedy series "Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero" (Friday, February 13, 9:45 p.m., ET/PT) delivered solid ratings in Total Viewers (2.9 million), Kids 2-11 (1.7 million/4.4 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.4 million/5.9 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (965,000/4.0 rating) across the two platforms. Three additional new episodes aired on Disney XD on Saturday, February 14 (9:00 p.m., ET/PT), Sunday, February 15 (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) and Monday, February 16 (9:15 p.m., ET/PT).
"Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero" was created and is executive-produced by Jared Bush ("All of Us," "Zootopia") and Sam Levine ("Tarzan," "Bolt"). Bush also serves as writer and Levine as supervising director. It is a production of Disney Television Animation.
