"48 HOURS: FALL FROM GRACE" IS SATURDAY'S #1 BROADCAST AT 10:00 PM WITH VIEWERS
48 HOURS: "Fall From Grace" was Saturday's #1 broadcast with viewers at 10:00PM, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Feb. 21, 2015.
48 HOURS posted an audience of 5.27 million viewers and a 1.3/04 with adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in News. Compared to the previous week, 48 HOURS was up +8% in adults 24-54 (from a 1.2/03).
Saturday's broadcast featured Troy Roberts and 48 HOURS' investigation into the death of Bethany Deaton, a young wife and successful nurse with a seemingly bright future. In Oct. 2012 Deaton was found dead by law enforcement in Grandview, Missouri in the backseat of a minivan with a plastic bag on her head and a suicide note nearby, along with an empty bottle of over-the-counter sleeping pills.
The story behind Deaton's death includes a fundamentalist Christian religious group some likened to a cult, a dream marriage to the group's leader, Tyler Deaton, which quickly turned into a nightmare and a shocking confession by a member of the religious group that turned the case upside down.
Police didn't believe Bethany killed herself because the way she was found didn't fit the pattern of someone taking their own life. Police thought they had the case solved when a member of the religious group confessed to killing Bethany. However, he later recanted his story and was released. What exactly happened to Bethany Deaton remains a mystery.
48 HOURS: "Fall From Grace" is produced by Chris O'Connell, Lindsey Gutterman and Dena Goldstein. David Spungen and Mike Baluzy are the editors. Al Briganti is the executive editor. Susan Zirinsky is the senior executive producer.
