'DATELINE MYSTERY' MATCHES NBC'S BEST RATING IN THE THURSDAY 9-11 P.M. SLOT IN EIGHT WEEKS
'FOOD FIGHTERS' FINISHES #2 AMONG THE BIG 4 AT 8 P.M.
Thursday Primetime Results:
NBC tied for #2 for the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and was #2 outright among those nets in total viewers.
· "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since May 28. "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" maintained 100% of the prior week's first Thursday "Dateline Mystery" telecast in adult 18-49 rating (1.0 vs. 1.0).
· "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" is up +67% versus NBC's summer average in the time period prior to "Dateline Mystery" (1.0 vs. 0.6). In total viewers, "Dateline Mystery" was up +80% versus the summer slot average prior to its arrival (5.194 million vs. 2.887 million).
· For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, while winning the hour among those networks in the key news demo of adults 25-54 versus original drama competition on ABC and CBS.
· Upscale: Last week's "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" was the top upscale Big 4 telecast of the night among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with a 125 index, 100 represents an average concentration of those homes).
· "Food Fighters" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) ranked #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and finished #2 or tied for #2 among those nets in adults and men 18-34, men and women 18-49 and adults and men 25-54.
· "Food Fighters" held steady or grew half-hour to half-hour in all key measures, including gains of +10% in adults 25-54 (1.0 to 1.1) and +17% in women 25-54 (1.2 to 1.4).
· "Food Fighters" will add significant viewership via time-shifting -- "Food Fighters" is increasing by +16% in 18-49 rating (from a 0.67 to a 0.78) and 315,000 viewers overall (3.1 million to 3.4 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.9/8; "CBS Summer Showcase," 1.6/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.8/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "CBS Summer Showcase," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
