'DATELINE THURSDAY NIGHT MYSTERY' WINS THE 10-11 P.M. HOUR AMONG ABC, CBS AND NBC IN 18-49
'DATELINE MYSTERY' MATCHES NBC'S BEST RATING IN THE THURSDAY 9-11 P.M. SLOT SINCE MAY AND HITS A NINE-WEEK HIGH IN TOTAL VIEWERS
NBC RANKS #2 FOR THE NIGHT AMONG THE BIG 4 IN ALL KEY MEASURES
Thursday Primetime Results:
· "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) matched NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since May 28, maintaining 100% of its 18-49 rating for the prior two weeks (and note that "Dateline Mystery" is close to rounding up to a 1.1, currently reporting a 1.04 in these preliminary fast-affiliate ratings).
· In total viewers, "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" delivered its biggest audience yet in three telecasts since moving to Thursday nights, and generated NBC's top total-viewer result in the time period since May 28. Week to week, "Dateline Mystery is up +5% in total viewers (5.547 million vs. 5.261 million).
· "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" is up +67% versus NBC's summer average in the time period prior to "Dateline Mystery" (1.0 vs. 0.6) and up +92% in total viewers (5.547 million vs. 2.887 million).
· For its second hour from 10-11 p.m., "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" won the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 25-54 and other key measures. For its full two-hour time period, "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" is #1 in total viewers among the Big 4 nets and #2 in all key demos.
· Upscale: Last week's "Dateline Thursday Night Mystery" was the most upscale Big 4 telecast of the night among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with a 130 index, 100 represents an average concentration of those homes).
· "Food Fighters" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) is running within 0.1 of last week's 18-49 rating (and is extremely close to rounding up to a 0.8, currently reporting a 0.748 in these preliminary fast-affiliate ratings).
· In total viewers, "Food Fighters" grew +3% week to week (3.589 million vs. 3.493 million).
· "Food Fighters" tied for #2 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-34 and was #2 outright among those nets in all key adult-male demos.
· "Food Fighters" held steady or grew half-hour to half-hour in all key measures, including a gain of +14% in adults 18-49 (0.7 to 0.8).
· "Food Fighters" will add significant viewership via time-shifting -- "Food Fighters" is increasing by +13% in 18-49 rating (from a 0.76 to a 0.86) and 267,000 viewers overall (3.2 million to 3.5 million) going from L+SD to L+7.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Thursday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 3.1/8; "CBS Summer Showcase," 1.4/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.9/5.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5; "CBS Summer Showcase," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.2/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.3/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (0.9/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
