"AMERICA'S GAME OF THE WEEK" POWERS NFL ON FOX TO SECOND-BEST START EVER
TV's No. 1 Show Logs More Than 27 Million Viewers Last Sunday
FOX NFL SUNDAY and FOX NFL KICKOFF Show Early Season Increases
New York -- Powered by Sunday's edition of AMERICA'S GAME OF THE WEEK, television's No. 1 show for six consecutive years, the NFL ON FOX is off to its second-best start ever.
On Sunday (9/20), AMERICA'S GAME OF THE WEEK featuring the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, delivered 27.2 million viewers and is television's most-watched telecast of the week (9/14-20) among households and across all key female demos including women 18-34, women 18-49 and women 25-54. It's also the network's most-watched telecast of any kind since the NFC Championship Game in January. FOX's regional coverage preceding AMERICA'S GAME OF THE WEEK, led by the Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants, delivered 15.3 million viewers.
Through two weeks, the NFL on FOX is averaging 20.9 million viewers, +1% in audience over last year's season-to-date average (20.6 million). The only season in which the NFL on FOX got off to a stronger start was 2013, averaging 21.9 million viewers after two weeks, which turned out to be its most-watched season ever.
FOX NFL SUNDAY, America's most-watched pregame show for 22 years running, is averaging 5.3 million viewers, +18% compared to the first two weeks of 2014 (4.5 million), and has a +43% advantage over CBS' "The NFL Today" (3.7 million) this season.
FOX NFL KICKOFF is averaging 1.024 million viewers over the season's first two weeks on FOX, a significant increase over its performance a year ago (107,000) on FS1, serving as an extremely beneficial lead-in to FOX NFL SUNDAY. While FOX NFL SUNDAY's average audience is +18% over last year's season-to-date performance, the first quarter hour, with FOX NFL KICKOFF as a lead-in, is +25% compared to initial tune-in a year ago.
