"The Late Show" Sets CBS.com Record for Full Episode Streams of a Premiere Episode, Topping Even Primetime Shows
With live + 7-day ratings, THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT extended its premiere week lead in viewers, moved into sole possession of first in adults 18-34 and tied "The Tonight Show" in both adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live + 7-day ratings for the week ending Sept. 11.
THE LATE SHOW added +1.62m viewers (6.07m from 4.45m, +36%), +0.7 in adults 25-54 (1.9 from 1.2, +58%), +0.6 in adults 18-49 (1.5 from 0.9, +67%) and +0.4 in adults 18-34 (1.1 from 0.7, +57%) in live plus 7-day lift from live plus same day ratings.
With live +7-day, THE LATE SHOW extended its lead in viewers over "The Tonight Show" to +1.21m from 510,000. In adults 18-34, THE LATE SHOW moved from a tie to +0.2 ahead (1.1 vs. 0.9). In adults 25-54 and adults 18-49, THE LATE SHOW is now tied with "The Tonight Show," after trailing by 0.3 in both demographics.
Digitally, the premiere episode of THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT continues to rank as the best series debut ever for any CBS show in terms of full episode streams on CBS.com and the CBS apps - even topping all CBS primetime shows.
Premiere-to-date across digital platforms, all streams of THE LATE SHOW are up triple-digit percentage points over the previous season. THE LATE SHOW has also generated the most social impressions of any late night show, with tweets about the show being read 24 million times, according to Nielsen Social.
