EIGHT WEEKS INTO THE NEW SEASON, CBS NEWS IS HOME TO MULTIPLE #1 BROADCASTS, AIRING THE ONLY EVENING AND MORNING NEWS PROGRAMS TO GROW YEAR-TO-YEAR
An Estimated 122.40 Million people Watch All or Part of a CBS News Broadcast
Eight weeks into the 2015-2016 television season, CBS News is home to the #1 news program on television, the #1 Sunday morning news program, the #1 Sunday public affairs broadcast, Saturday's #1 non-sports broadcast, and the only network evening news and morning news broadcasts to post year-to-year growth, according to Nielsen most current statistics.
So far this season, an estimated 122.40 million viewers have watched all or part of CBS News' broadcasts, with an 47.89 million in the advertiser-desired 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen.
The division's commitment to original reporting from around the globe has made the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY the only network evening newscast to post season-to-date audience gains and made CBS THIS MORNING the only network morning newscast to grow from a year ago.
With viewers this season, 60 MINUTES remained the nation's #1 news program, CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD remained the #1 Sunday morning news program, FACE THE NATION remained the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program, and 48 HOURS remained Saturday's #1 non-sports program.
CBS News last week was also home to the first Democratic debate of the campaign season to be carried by a broadcast network. The debate delivered 8.86 million viewers and a 1.9/06 with adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus 3-day ratings. The broadcast finished the night of Nov. 14 as the #1 primetime broadcast with viewers.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is the only network evening news broadcast to post season-to-date audience increases, delivering 7.13 million viewers (+6%, from 6.72m) and a 1.4/06 with adults 25-54. For the week ending Nov. 13, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY was the only evening newscast to add viewers, delivering 7.78 million viewers (+5%, from 7.44m last year) and a 1.5/06 with adults 25-54. The broadcast cut the viewership gap with NBC by 680,000 viewers and with ABC by 510,000 viewers. The CBS broadcast posted its best viewer delivery in nine months (since the week ending Feb. 27, 2015) and its best adults 25-54 delivery in eight months (since the week ending March 6, 2015).
60 MINUTES is America's #1 news program this season, delivering 14.39 million viewers (up +11%, from 13.02m last season) and a 3.4/09 with adults 25-54 (+21%, from 2.8/07). On Nov. 15 60 MINUTES posted its best audience levels since Nov. 30, 2014. The broadcast delivered 18.13 million viewers (+43% from 12.65m last year) and a 4.7/11 with adults 25-54 (+88%, from 2.5/06).
CBS THIS MORNING is the only network morning news program to post season-to-date gains in viewers compared to last season. The broadcast is delivering 3.42 million viewers (+8%, from 3.17m) and a 0.8/07 with adults 25-54. For the week ending Nov. 13, CBS THIS MORNING delivered 3.52 million viewers and a 0.8/07 with adults 25-54. CBS THIS MORNING closed the viewership gap with ABC by 760,000 viewers and with NBC by 320,000 viewers compared to the same week last year.
FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program, delivering 3.46 million viewers (+6% from 3.27m last season) and a 0.7/03 with adults 25-54. The broadcast delivered 3.43 million viewers and a 0.7/04 with adults 25-54 on Nov. 15. Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 57.4% of the CBS affiliates.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD is the #1 Sunday morning newscast with viewers and adults 25-54 of far this season, delivering 5.44 million viewers and a 1.1/06 with adults 25-54. On Nov.15 the broadcast delivered 5.61 million viewers and a 1.1/06 with adults 25-54 and was the #1 Sunday morning newscasts with both categories.
48 HOURS this season is Saturday's #1 non-sports broadcast with viewers. 48 HOURS is delivering 5.62 million viewers and a 1.4/04 season-to-date. A special 48 HOURS: "Paris Under Attack" delivered 4.50 million viewers and a 1.2/04 on Nov. 14.
CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY is delivering 2.20 million viewers this season (up +8% from 2.03m last season) and a 0.5/04 with adults 25-54. CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY on Nov. 14 delivered 2.40 million viewers and a 0.6/04 with adults 25-54.
