L+7 Ratings: ABC's HTGAWM Soars +107% in Playback--its Biggest Jump Yet and 3rd Straight Week of Triple-Digit Growth

Despite its entire Sunday line-up being pre-empted for the Oscars, ABC still claimed the most in the Top 10 playback gainers on the broadcast networks among Adults 18-49 (tied with NBC), with 5 of the Top 10 and 4 of the Top 5: Modern Family (+1.8 rating points) - #2, How to Get Away With Murder (+1.6) - #3, Grey's Anatomy (+1.5) - #4 and Scandal (+1.3) - #5 (tie).
ABC's HTGAWM scored its biggest L+7 increase yet among Adults 18-49 with a +107% jump over its L+SD rating, turning in its 3rd straight week of triple-digit playback growth
With a special episode covering police brutality, ABC's black-ish grew to a 3.1 rating among Adults 18-49 after 7 days of TV playback, up over the prior week by 3-tenths of a rating point to its highest-rated L+7 telecast in 7 weeks - since 1/6/16. black-ish jumped +1.2 rating points over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating, matching its biggest L+7 lift since its season premiere - since 9/23/15.
On Friday, Shark Tank scored an all-time playback high on a percentage basis among Adults 18-49 (+67%), while also matching its biggest-ever actual increase from L+SD to L+7 (+0.8 rating points).
In the final Live + 7 Day ratings, ABC's How to Get Away with Murder (3.1 rating), black-ish (3.1 rating) and Scandal (3.0 rating) all finished among the week's Top 10 highest-rated broadcast series among Adults 18-49, with HTGAWM shooting up from #23 in L+SD to #7 in L+7, black-ish moving up 4 spots to also rank #7 and Scandal jumping 9 spots to #9.
· On Wednesday, ABC claimed 3 of the night's Top 4 programs among Adults 18-49, with Modern Family solidifying its rank as #1 (4.3 rating) and both black-ish (3.1 rating) and The Goldbergs (2.8 rating) moving ahead of Fox's American Idol (2.6 rating) and CBS' Survivor (2.6 rating) to finish at #2 and #4, respectively.

Based on TV playback data through 23 weeks of the 2015-16 season, ABC claims 5 of the Top 10 biggest broadcast gainers among Adults 18-49, tying CBS (1), NBC (2) and Fox (2) combined: Modern Family (+1.9 rating points) - #3, How to Get Away with Murder (+1.6) and Grey's Anatomy (+1.6) tie for #6 and Scandal (+1.5) and Quantico (+1.5) tie for #8.
Quantico is the season's biggest playback gainer on the broadcast networks on a percentage basis, soaring +86% in Total Viewers (5.1 million to 9.5 million) and +100% (tie) in Adults 18-49 (1.5 rating to 3.0 rating) over its L+SD numbers.
ABC has the #1 broadcast gainer among young adults on Monday with Castle (+82%), on Wednesday with Nashville (+82%) and on Sunday with Quantico (+100%).
Among Adults 18-49 in the L+7 ratings, ABC has the #1 comedy on Tuesday with Fresh Off the Boat (2.1 rating), 3 of the Top 5 highest-rated broadcast shows on Wednesday with Modern Family (4.6), The Goldbergs (3.1) and black-ish (3.0), the Top 3 dramas on Thursday with Scandal (3.9), Grey's Anatomy (3.9) and HTGAWM (3.6), the #1 show on Friday with Shark Tank (2.2) and the Top 2 broadcast series on Sunday with Quantico (3.0) and Once Upon a Time (2.6).
Nearly all of ABC's returning series are seeing bigger percentage gains among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+7 this year than last: black-ish (+58% vs. +46%), Castle (+82% vs. +69%), DWTS (+22% vs. +20%), Fresh Off the Boat (+50% vs. +35%), Galavant (+50% vs. +46%), The Goldbergs (+48% vs. +45%), Grey's Anatomy (+70% vs. +60%), How to Get Away with Murder (+80% vs. +67%), Last Man Standing (+58% vs. +46%), Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (+79% vs. +76%), Marvel's Agent Carter (+75% vs. +60%), The Middle (+35% vs. +29%), Modern Family (+70% vs. +67%), Nashville (+82% vs. +64%), Once Upon a Time (+63% vs. +48%), Scandal (+63% vs. +50%) and Shark Tank (+47% vs. +37%).
