TRAVEL CHANNEL HITS HIGHEST-RATED APRIL IN THREE YEARS AMONG P25-54
NEW YORK (April 28, 2016) - Building on six consecutive months of ratings gains, Travel Channel delivered 15% growth among viewers P25-54 and a 26% ratings increase among W25-54 in April. This was the network's highest-rated April since 2013 among P25-54.
Tuesday prime was up 64% year-over-year among P25-54, making it the night's highest-rated April since 2011. Growth on Tuesday was led by the 9 p.m. premiere of "Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations," with culinary explorer Andrew Zimmern, which rated 73% above the year-ago time slot's average. The April 12 sneak peek of "Andrew Zimmern's Driven by Food" at 10 p.m. posted a 178% ratings increase in its time period, year over year.
Led by the success of the 9 p.m. premieres of "Expedition Unknown" with adventurer Josh Gates, Wednesday prime ratings were up 5% year-over-year - Travel Channel's best April performance since 2011.
Thursday prime saw a 28% increase year-over-year for P25-54, driven by 9 p.m. premieres of "Mysteries at the Museum" featuring history explorer and museum enthusiast Don Wildman. The series rated 65% above its year-ago time slot's average.
