Friday's primetime Rio Olympics coverage posted a Total Audience Delivery average of 26 million viewers with a 15.0 household rating (chart below)
NBCSN on Friday posted its best-ever weekday viewership with an average of 1.38 million viewers (8 a.m.-midnight ET). Coverage featured U.S. women's soccer, U.S. women's basketball, and U.S. men's basketball.
After 8 days, the NBC-only average primetime viewership (28.1 million viewers) and household rating (15.6) have respective +260% and +206% advantages over ABC, CBS and Fox combined - the second-largest Games advantage on record (behind only the London Olympics), according to fast national data from Nielsen Media Research.
Among adults 18-49, NBC's eight-night 8.1 primetime rating in the demographic tops by +376% the other Big 4 networks combined (1.7 on ABC, CBS and Fox) - the largest advantage in the first 8 days of any Olympics on record.
