Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Wins Thanksgiving with NFL Coverage

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (11/24/16):

NBC (17.850 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 5.8, #1) was the holiday champ on Thursday with its special editions of "Football Night in America" (14.386 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 4.7, #2) and "Sunday Night Football" (18.543 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 6.1, #1).

FOX (4.877 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then was the silver draw with "NFL Overrun/Rosewood" (6.689 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3) and a repeat "Pitch" (3.066 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7).

Next up was CBS (5.500 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #3) with a repeat "The Big Bang Theory" (7.191 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) alongside new episodes of "The Great Indoors" (5.225 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5), "Mom" (5.809 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T5), "Life in Pieces" (5.296 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) and "Pure Genius" (4.740 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #10).

Meanwhile, ABC (4.053 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up its special "The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration" (4.984 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) and repeats of "Modern Family" (2.479 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #11) and "American Housewife" (1.902 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12).

And finally, a marathon of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.962 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T13), another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (1.072 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T13), yet another "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (0.969 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.3, #T13) and even more "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" · In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.5, delayed by an NFL overrun; "Late Show," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 0.9/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," a 1.5 rating in metered-market households, delayed by an NFL overrun; CBS's "Late Late Show," 0.9/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.7 in 18-49, delayed by an NFL overrun; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly," delayed by an NFL overrun, averaged a 1.0 rating in metered-market households and a 0.5 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 18 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (11/26/15):

NBC (23.966 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 7.6, #1) was the network to beat on Thanksgiving with special editions of "Football Night in America" (17.958 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 5.6, #2) and "Sunday Night Football" (25.167 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 8.0, #1).

CBS (7.348 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2) then claimed the silver with a repeat "The Big Bang Theory" (12.833 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 3.4, #3) and new episodes of "Life in Pieces" (8.009 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.2, #4), "Mom" (6.724 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5), "2 Broke Girls" (5.855 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T5) and "Elementary" (5.333 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #7).

Next up was ABC (1.846 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #3) and its encore lineup of "The Muppets" (2.165 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8), "Fresh Off the Boat" (1.582 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12), "The Middle" (1.873 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T8), "The Goldbergs" (1.750 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10), "Last Man Standing" (1.968 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T10) and "Dr. Ken" (1.739 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.073 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.4, #4) offered up its special "The All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration" (2.073 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T12).

And finally, The CW (1.092 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5) closed out the night with repeats of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"
