24-HOUR DISNEY JUNIOR CHANNEL IS TV'S #1 PRESCHOOLER NETWORK FOR THE 4TH STRAIGHT YEAR
Disney Channel - 2016
For 2016, Disney Channel ranked as the #1 Total Day TV network for the 6th consecutive year among its two key demographics, Kids 6-14 (453,000/1.2 rating) and Kids 6-11 (322,000/1.3 rating - tie), leading Nickelodeon (+16% - vs. 391,000) and Cartoon Network (+41% - vs. 321,000) by solid double digits in the all-encompassing Kids 6-14 measure - dates back to 2011. Among Tweens 9-14 (315,000/1.3 rating), the network has been the #1 TV network for 8 consecutive years, also leading by double digits over Nickelodeon (+54% - vs. 205,000) and Cartoon Network (+56% - vs. 202,000).
Across digital viewing platforms, Disney amassed over 1 billion consumer engagements via STB/VOD (1.054 billion), a significant +55% increase over 2015, and an additional 101 million engagements on average each month via the Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD apps powered by the premiere of the 100th Disney Channel Original Movie "Adventures in Babysitting," the series' launch and TV special for "Elena of Avalor," Disney Junior series ("Sofia the First"/"The Lion Guard") and Disney Channel series ("Liv and Maddie"/"Stuck in the Middle").
The three Disney-owned kids' TV networks (Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD) reached 174 million Total Viewers during 2016 - 15 million more than the Nickelodeon cable networks (159 million) and 31 million more than the Turner kid cable TV networks (143 million).
Around the world, Disney Channels programming reaches over 1 billion Total Viewers on average each quarter across the U.S., the U.K., EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), Latin America, Russia and the Asia/Pacific regions throughout the year.
· The premiere of the 100th Disney Channel Original Movie "Adventures in Babysitting" (6/24/16, 8:00 p.m. EDT) ranked as the #1 cable TV telecast of the year across major youth demos Kids 2-11 (2.4 million-tie), Kids 6-11 (1.9 million/8.2 rating) and Kids 6-14 (2.5 million/7.1 rating) and the #1 telecast across kid cable TV networks in Total Viewers (4.8 million).
· The simulcast Disney Channel/24-hour Disney Junior channel premiere of TV special "Elena and the Secret of Avalor" (11/20/16, 7:00 p.m. EST) tied "Adventures of Babysitting" as the #1 cable TV telecast of 2016 in Kids 2-11 delivery (2.4 million apiece) and was the #2 cable TV telecast in Kids 2-5 (1.3 million/8.2 rating). The TV event was also the #2 telecast across the kid networks in Adults 18-49 (1.5 million/1.1 rating), behind only the basic cable premiere of "Frozen" (2/14/16).
· "Elena of Avalor" ranked as the #1 TV series of 2016 to date in G2-11, the #2 animated TV series in Kids 2-11 (1.2 million/3.2 rating) and #1 animated series across kid cable networks in Total Viewers (2.408 million).
24-Hour Disney Junior Channel - 2016
Powered by newcomers "The Lion Guard" and "Elena of Avalor," the Top 2 series of 2016 across preschooler TV networks in both Total Viewers and key target Kids 2-5, the 24-hour Disney Junior channel ranked as the #1 preschool-dedicated TV network in Total Day for the 4th year in a row in Total Viewers (515,000), across all key Kids 2-5 (214,000/1.4 rating), Girls 2-5 (108,000/1.4 rating) and Boys 2-5 (106,000/1.3 rating) demographics and Women 18-49 (109,000), leading Nick Jr. by double digits (+15% to +45%) and Sprout by triple digits (+272% to +354%).
For the year, the channel aired the Top 8 series across preschooler networks in Total Viewers (Top 5 below) and the Top 5 in Kids 2-5:

· Disney Junior channel surpassed Nick Jr. by double digits for the 4th straight year across the board: Total Viewers (+26% - 515,000 vs. 410,000), Kids 2-5 (+19% - 214,000 vs. 180,000), Girls 2-5 (+15% - 108,000 vs. 94,000), Boys 2-5 (+23% - 106,000 vs. 86,000), and Women 18-49 (+45% - 109,000 vs. 75,000).
· Disney Junior channel towered over Sprout by triple digits for the 4th-consecutive year across target demos: Total Viewers (+279% - 515,000 vs. 136,000), Kids 2-5 (+289% - 214,000 vs. 55,000), Girls 2-5 (+272% - 108,000 vs. 29,000), Boys 2-5 (+308% - 106,000 vs. 26,000) and Women 18-49 (+354% - 109,000 vs. 24,000).
