Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS, NBC Share Top Demo Honors, Edge FOX

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (4/4/17):

CBS (11.108 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) was the most-watched network on Tuesday with fresh installments of "NCIS" (13.451 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2), "Bull" (10.984 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (8.889 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9).

NBC (6.375 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T1) however shared in the top demo honors with its mix of "The Voice" (9.339 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1), "Trial & Error" (4.142 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10), another "Trial & Error" (3.189 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14) and "Chicago Fire" (6.121 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4).

Next up was FOX (2.924 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3) with the season finale of "New Girl" (2.010 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10), a new "The Mick" (2.108 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #13) and the return of "Prison Break" (3.789 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T2).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.562 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up its new lineup of "The Middle" (5.336 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T4), "American Housewife" (4.353 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #7), "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.833 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #8), "Imaginary Mary" (3.455 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) and "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.199 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T14).

And finally, the season finale of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (1.529 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.6, #16) led into the season opener of "iZombie" (0.980 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.4, #17) on The CW (1.254 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.4/2.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.0/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.3/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.3/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (4/5/16):

CBS (11.237 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) pulled into the top spot on Tuesday with new episodes of "NCIS" (15.362 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1), "NCIS: New Orleans" (12.162 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) and "Limitless" (6.190 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7).

NBC (7.185 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then was a close second with a "The Voice" (6.707 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #6) recap, followed by new episodes of "Chicago Med" (7.145 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4) and "Chicago Fire" (7.703 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3).

Next up was FOX (5.144 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) with a special edition of "American Idol" (5.917 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #5) and a new "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (2.824 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.917 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) offered up originals from "Fresh Off the Boat" (4.196 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7), "The Real O'Neals" (3.657 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.869 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) and "Beyond the Tank" (1.957 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12).

And finally, a repeat of "The Flash" (1.370 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13) and a new "iZombie" (1.077 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13) on The CW (1.223 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night.
