Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS Tops Viewers, Shares Demo Crown with NBC

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (5/9/17):

CBS (10.937 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) was the top draw on Tuesday with its trio of "NCIS" (13.037 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2), "Bull" (10.886 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (8.889 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7).

Sharing the demo crown however was NBC (5.822 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T1) and its lineup of "The Voice" (8.502 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1), "Great News" (3.547 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #12), another "Great News" (2.756 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T13) and "Chicago Fire" (5.812 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3).

Next up was ABC (3.312 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) and its mix of "The Middle" (4.955 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3), "American Housewife" (4.251 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T3), "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.444 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7), "Imaginary Mary" (2.917 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) and "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.153 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T13).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.031 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4) offered up new episodes of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.830 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15), another "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.476 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15) and "Prison Break" (2.410 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

And finally, originals from "The Flash" (2.621 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7) and "iZombie" (1.055 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.4, #17) rounded out the night on The CW (1.838 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T4).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.6/4; "Late Show," 0.7/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.3/5. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.3/3.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (5/10/16):

CBS (12.007 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) was the top draw on Tuesday with its mix of "NCIS" (15.657 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.0, #1), "NCIS: New Orleans" (12.954 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3) and "Person of Interest" (7.412 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7).

NBC (8.273 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T1) then shared in the demo honors with fresh installments from "The Voice" (8.906 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #2), "Chicago Med" (7.997 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3) and "Chicago Fire" (7.917 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T3).

Next up was The CW (2.442 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #3) with originals from "The Flash" (3.482 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #6) and "Containment" (1.401 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.5, #16).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.827 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T4) offered up new episodes from "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.920 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10), "The Real O'Neals" (3.173 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10), "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.928 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) and its special "BattleBots: The Gears Awaken" (2.009 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13).
