Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: NBC Tops Viewers, Demos with "The Voice"

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (12/5/17):

NBC (7.401 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.4, #1) was the network to beat on Tuesday with a new "The Voice" (9.887 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T1) followed by special episodes of "Will & Grace" (7.128 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T1) and "Superstore" (4.405 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4) plus a new "Chicago Med" (6.550 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T4).

CBS (6.356 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.7, #2) then claimed the silver despite its all-repeat lineup of "NCIS" (8.327 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9), "SEAL Team" (6.051 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T12) and "Bull" (4.692 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15).

Next up was ABC (3.593 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) with originals from "The Middle" (5.762 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #3), "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.759 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #8), "Black-ish" (4.011 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6), "The Mayor" (2.739 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T12) and "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World" (2.644 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.349 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) served up originals from "Lethal Weapon" (4.481 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T6), "The Mick" (2.481 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9) and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (1.952 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T12).

And finally, the fall finales of "The Flash" (2.213 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9) and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (1.631 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15) on The CW (1.922 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.7, #5) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.3/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.3/5. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.5/4 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.3/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (12/6/16):

NBC (9.579 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) took home the adults 18-49 honors on Tuesday with a new "The Voice" (10.099 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.9, #2) followed by the fall finales of "This Is Us" (10.926 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.8, #1) and "Chicago Fire" (7.713 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T3).

CBS (11.788 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then was the silver draw with originals from "NCIS" (14.493 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T3), "Bull" (11.572 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #5) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (9.300 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T8).

Next up was ABC (3.815 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) and its comedy lineup of "The Middle" (6.047 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6), "American Housewife" (5.005 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T6), "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.839 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10) and "The Real O'Neals" (3.048 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12) plus the fall finale to "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.476 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12).
