Wednesday's Broadcast Ratings: "9-1-1" Premiere Puts FOX on Top

Here are the highlights of the 15 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/3/18):

FOX (5.999 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) took home top demo honors on Wednesday with the return of "The X-Files" (5.190 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5) alongside the debut of "9-1-1" (6.809 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.8, #1).

NBC (6.358 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) then was the most-watched broadcaster with the 2018 debuts of "The Blacklist" (6.006 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10), "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (6.287 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T5) and "Chicago PD" (6.781 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7).

Next up was ABC (4.662 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T2) with originals from "The Goldbergs" (5.843 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4), "Speechless" (4.333 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9), "Modern Family" (5.896 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) and "American Housewife" (4.774 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T7) plus the return of "Match Game" (3.563 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11).

Meanwhile, CBS (6.186 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #4) offered up the opener to "The Amazing Race 30" (7.311 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3) alongside originals from "SEAL Team" (5.867 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11) and "Criminal Minds" (5.380 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T11).

And finally, repeats of "Riverdale" (0.785 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.2, #14) and "Dynasty" (0.485 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.1, #15) on The CW (0.635 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) rounded out the night.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.0/3 with an encore. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore; "Late Late Show," 0.2/1 with an encore.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
