During the second week of the new season (w/o 9/27/21), ABC ranked as the No. 1 entertainment network among Adults 18-49 (0.8/6), tying NBC, while leading CBS by 14% (0.7/5) and Fox by 33% (0.6/4).
ABC was the No. 1 entertainment network on Monday (0.9/6-tie) and on Thursday (1.0/7-tie) and the No. 1 network on Tuesday (1.1/8).
ABC shot up over Premiere Week by 28% in Total Viewers (+27% - 4.7 million vs. 3.7 million) and by 14% among Adults 18-49 (0.8/6 vs. 0.7/5).
The season premiere of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" was the week's No. 1 scripted show among Adults 18-49 (1.3/9), tying Fox's "9-1-1" and NBC's "Chicago P.D."
ABC delivered 2 of the Top 5 highest-rated comedies of the week among Adults 18-49, including the No. 1 comedy: "The Conners" (0.8/6) - No. 1 (tie) and "The Goldbergs" (0.7/5) - No. 3 (tie).
With increases of +100% from Live+Same Day to Live+3 Day, ABC's "The Good Doctor" season premiere, "A Million Little Things" and "The Rookie" all tied as the week's No. 1 broadcast gainer in TV playback among Adults 18-49.
ABC also delivered each of the week's Top 3 broadcast gainers in TV playback in Total Viewers: "Big Sky" season premiere (+100%) - No. 1, "A Million Little Things" (+90%) - No. 2 and "The Rookie" (+84%). In fact, ABC's "Big Sky" delivered the biggest playback lift for any broadcast program so far this season in Total Viewers (+100%) and is the only broadcast program this season to post triple-digit growth after three days of TV playback.
Monday
ABC ranked as Monday's No. 1 entertainment network with Adults 18-49 (0.9/6), jumping into a tie with NBC for first place after standing two-tenths of a rating point behind in Live+Same Day. ABC beat CBS (0.8/6) and Fox (0.8/5) by 13% each in Adults 18-49.
"The Good Doctor" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 6.8 million and 0.8/6 in AD18-49):
ABC's season five premiere of "The Good Doctor" emerged as the No. 1 entertainment series in Monday's 10 o'clock hour among Adults 18-49 (0.8/6), moving ahead of CBS' "NCIS: Hawaii" to lead by 14% (0.7/5) and dominating NBC's "Ordinary Joe" by 60% (0.5/4).
"The Good Doctor" improved over its prior season average (11/2/20-6/7/21) by 6% in Total Viewers (6.8 million vs. 6.4 million).
"The Good Doctor" season premiere soared by +100% after three days of TV playback to stand as Monday's No. 1 broadcast gainer. In fact, the ABC drama was the night's only broadcast program to post triple-digit growth from Live+Same Day to Live+3 Day among Adults 18-49.
With three days of viewing across linear and digital platforms, the season premiere of "The Good Doctor" increased by almost +4.0 million viewers over its initial Live+Same Day average, spiking to 7.9 million Total Viewers. In addition, the ABC drama more than tripled its L+SD rating among Adults 18-49 with multiplatform delayed viewing (+215% - 0.41 rating to 1.29 rating).
Tuesday
With a three-hour "Bachelor in Paradise," ABC ranked as Tuesday's No. 1 network with Adults 18-49 (1.1/8), beating NBC by 10% (1.0/8), CBS by 38% (0.8/6) and Fox by 83% (0.6/4).
ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" emerged as Tuesday's No. 1 program among Adults 18-49 (1.1/8), tying NBC's "The Voice." In fact, the ABC series has ranked or tied as the No. 1 program of the night on 9 of its 10 telecasts this season in Adults 18-49.
Thursday
Powered by the season premieres of "Station 19," "Grey's Anatomy" and "Big Sky," ABC ranked as Thursday's most-watched entertainment network, leading runner-up NBC by 14% in Total Viewers (6.7 million vs. 5.9 million). ABC was also the night's No. 1 entertainment network with Adults 18-49 (1.0/7), moving into a tie with NBC for first place after placing 1-tenth of a rating point behind in Live+Same Day.
"Station 19" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 6.7 million and 1.0/8 in AD18-49):
The season five premiere of ABC's "Station 19" outdrew its June finale by 8% in Total Viewers (6.7 million vs. 6.2 million on 6/3/21) to top its final 10 episodes of the prior season and deliver its most-watched telecast since March - since 3/11/21.
"Station 19" ranked as Thursday's No. 2 entertainment show in Total Viewers (6.7 million), behind only ABC's "Grey's Anatomy." In addition, the ABC drama was the most-watched entertainment series in Thursday's 8 p.m. hour, topping NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" by 6% (6.7 million vs. 6.3 million).
After three days of viewing across all linear and digital platforms, "Station 19" delivered a 1.60 rating among Adults 18-49, marking an increase of +111% over its initial Live+Same Day rating. In addition, the ABC drama grew to nearly 8 million Total Viewers (7.9 million) with multiplatform delayed viewing.
"Grey's Anatomy" (9:00-10:01 p.m. - 7.0 million and 1.3/9 in AD18-49):
ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" season premiere was Thursday's No. 1 entertainment series in both Total Viewers (7.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.3/9).
"Grey's Anatomy" outperformed its June finale by 3% in Total Viewers (7.0 million vs. 6.8 million on 6/3/21) and outdelivered the final four telecasts of its prior season.
Spiking by +0.5 rating points with Adults 18-49 from Live+Same Day to Live+3 Day, ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" was Thursday's No. 1 gainer in TV playback.
After three days of delayed multiplatform viewing, "Grey's Anatomy" averaged nearly 10 million Total Viewers (9.5 million), almost doubling its Live+Same Day tally (+98%). In addition, the ABC drama skyrocketed +243% among Adults 18-49 to hit a 2.64 rating.
"Big Sky" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 6.2 million and 0.7/6 in AD18-49):
Moving to a new night, ABC's "Big Sky" opened its second season with its largest audience since February - since 2/16/21. The "Big Sky" season two premiere grew over its May finale by 9% in Total Viewers (6.2 million vs. 5.7 million on 5/18/21) to outdraw its final six telecasts of the prior season.
ABC's "Big Sky" stood as the most-watched entertainment program in Thursday's 10 o'clock hour, leading NBC's "Law & Order: Organized Crime" by 11% in Total Viewers (6.2 million vs. 5.6 million).
Picking up an additional +3.1 million Total Viewers from Live+Same Day to Live+3 Day, "Big Sky" doubled its overall audience after just three days of TV playback (+100% - 3.1 million to 6.2 million) to stand as Thursday's No. 1 broadcast gainer.
With three days of cross-platform viewing, "Big Sky" more than tripled its Live+Same Day rating with an increase of +224% among Adults 18-49. The ABC drama also gained more than +4.0 million viewers over its Live+Same Day average, spiking to 7.4 million Total Viewers in delayed multiplatform viewing.
Friday
ABC's "The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World" ranked as Friday's No. 1 program among Adults 18-49 (0.7/6), tying CBS' "S.W.A.T" and "Blue Bloods" and Fox's "WWE Friday Night Smackdown."
Sunday
"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m. - 5.1 million and 0.6/4 in AD18-49):
The season premiere and 700th episode of "America's Funniest Home Videos" soared over its May season finale by 13% in Total Viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.5 million on 5/23/21) and outdrew its final four telecasts of the prior season.
"America's Funniest Home Videos" improved over its prior season average by 4% in Total Viewers (5.1 million vs. 4.9 million).
"Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 4.9 million and 0.6/4 in AD18-49):
"Celebrity Wheel of Fortune" built over its week-earlier season premiere by double digits in both Total Viewers (+17% - 4.9 million vs. 4.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (+20% - 0.6/4 vs. 0.5/3).
"Supermarket Sweep" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 3.3 million and 0.6/3 in AD18-49):
"Supermarket Sweep" grew over its week-ago season premiere by 10% in Total Viewers (3.3 million vs. 3.0 million) and held even week to week among Adults 18-49.
ABC's "Supermarket Sweep" was the No. 1 entertainment series in Sunday's 9 p.m. hour in Total Viewers (3.3 million).
"The Rookie" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 5.7 million and 0.6/4 in AD18-49):
ABC's "The Rookie" stood as the No. 1 entertainment program in the Sunday 10 p.m. hour in both Total Viewers (5.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (0.6/4).
After three days of TV playback, "The Rookie" spiked by +2.57 million Total Viewers over its Live+Same Day average to stand as Sunday's No. 1 gainer. In addition, the ABC drama soared by +100% among Adults 18-49 from L+SD to L+3 to rank as the night's biggest broadcast gainer.
